• Paragon's Drinking Game (guide)

This game was taught to us Paragon members by Verdisha, and in Finland it's also known to go by the name "Huikka". As we've played this game many times together, (also in China with Dream), we though we'd share it with the rest of you.

  • [4.1] Destruction - Basics guide by Manni

Disclaimer: I know there are plenty of guides to go around with, but I felt like I might be able to put up something useful, and at the very least, have something I can refer people to so I don't have to explain this stuff over and over again to everyone who asks. I do intend to cover mostly only the very basics you need to know to play Destruction, with some slighty advanced stuff here and there, because it's the basic stuff I get asked the most and surprisingly many don't know that well.

  • If you've ever been wondering about my research... you can find out!

I had an opportunity to explain my PhD research into WoW raiding with the folks at Manaflask this week. They've posted the interview on their Web site,

If you've ever wondered what exactly I've been doing, what I'm finding out, and what I hope to do with my PhD, there is probably way more information there than you might ever have wanted to know! :)

  • New Global Report on the Virtual Economy

The BBC posted an article today about a new World Bank/infoDev report titled "Converting the Virtual Economy into Development Potential: Knowledge Map of the Virtual Economy" (Lehdonvirta, Vili. & Ernkvist, Mirko, 2011. Washington, DC; infoDev / World Bank). It explores the evolution of the virtual economy in such environments as MMOs. A short case study of WoW is included. One intriguing suggestion it makes is that the sale of virtual products (like game gold) could have a positive impact on local, developing economies.

  • Inside Paragon - Xaar

Hello and welcome to the second installment of the Inside Paragon series. Sorry that it took so long since the last (and first) one, but I am currently trying to get this thing called University finished which can actually be time consuming for once. This time I had the pleasure to ask questions to former Resto turned Boomkin Druid Xaar who is also the relations contact to sponsors and has the pleasure of seeing Xenophics without her epics. While Baltha was treated gently with ten questions, Xenophics encouraged me drop a lot of questions on Xaar... and I did. Enjoy!

  • Recruitment is open

We'd like to remind all the Finnish speaking players out there that we are always looking for talented players to join the raiding team. At the moment is especially good time to apply - if you got interested keep the following in mind:

Paragon is a full Finnish guild so this part will be in Finnish. If you can't understand the following text, you do NOT have any chance of joining Paragon.

Meillä ei tällä hetkellä ole pakottavaa tarvetta uusille jäsenille, mutta lupaaville rekryille annamme mahdollisuuden näyttää mihin pystyy.

  • Logo competition Winner and new Paragon logo announced

Paragon's logo competition submissions has been closed for a couple of days, and we have kept you waiting for our decision on the winner. Sorry. We have finally made up our minds, and believe me, it was a process that took three votes, public discussion between our members and other hazzle. It definitely wasn't easy or fast.

  • Logo Competition is over, winner to be announced later

The logo competition has now ended and we are one happy guild at the moment. We got 33 different suggestions and even more mails where people told us what our logo should look like. We would like to thank everybody for being so generous with their time and talent, and for submitting such great entries.
