2:nd wave of the survey and general update

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry for the lack of updates but I have been working hard on my master-thesis as well as my work as a research assistant. I am currently working on completing the second wave of my survey and it will ship on Monday to all of you who answered the first panel a few months ago. Therefore you will recieve an mail from me either in-game or by e-mail depending on what contact-information you gave me.

I hope that you still want to answer my second survey since it is key for me to have both steps in order to do my research about how World of Warcraft-players percieve democracy as well as how the in-game experience affect that view. It is also important to get as many respondents in the second step as possible so even if you have stopped playing it is absolutely essential for me to get your answers.

I have also done some checking up on my data from the first step and it seems as if most of my data is representative for what other research have found about World of Warcraft-players. The mean-age for my respondets were 22.5 years and 92% were male. An interesting and somewhat unexpected result from both my data and a representative data-set from Sweden shows that the avarage World of Warcraft-player is more interested in Politics than the avarage person. Maybe it is all the politics of guilds that creates this interest in real-world politics? This is something I want to look into further into during the next couple of weeks when I get the data from the second wave of the survey.
