So something big is coming.. in the next week or so. No, it's not a shark (though I really really want an underwater raid at some point...), it's Firelands!

First off, let me apologize for my inactivity on this blog the last couple of months. Working full-time while finishing my master-thesis got me to pay full attention to those things. My World of Warcraft-career has effectively taken a beating also with 1900 rating as top rating this season but I'm hoping for season 10!
So, let's discuss some of the findings that my research have produced this far.
What is an elite raiding guild?
If you've ever spoken to me about my research, you know that I’ve been speaking with raiders from all sorts of backgrounds and rankings. This is helping me document the most complete picture of what we are doing in the raiding community and how we like to pursue our love of raiding. In addition to casual, social, hard core, and high-level raiding guilds, I’ve also had a chance to speak to quite a few of what I call the ‘elite raiding guilds’ about their experiences.

As you know, we'll be heading to Sweden in a bit more than a week to attend Dreamhack. This summer, we'll be of course meeting people at the event, enjoying the warm weather (inside) and of course raiding at Asus + SteelSeries booth. This time we are honored to have Nordrassil Radio and Cynical Brit with us at the event doing coverage and of course, commentating our live raid.
You might have seen the trailer of LFG Production's upcoming documentary film earlier this year. It seems the release date is getting closer, and now they are publising short clips of the interviews they've done with people. It seems they started with one of our own, xenophics.
If you want to keep yourself updated on how things are going with the production, here are all the new links for all future "Race To World First" updates:
We are happy to announce that we have been invited by SteelSeries and Asus to attend Dreamhack Summer, held 18.-21.6.2011 in Jönköping, Sweden. This time we'll have five guys attending; Verdisha, Kolori, Hermanni, arx and xenophics. We'll be raiding t11 content, and of course the possible ptr testings. More info about the schedule will be published when we know more.
As always, we are very excited to come and meet all the other World of Warcraft enthusiasts out there in Sweden. So see you in Jönköping.
It's was already some time ago we held the competitiont for the new logo. The one that got picked has been introduced slowly on the site and other medias, but we are getting there. Now we have the finalized version(s) of the new logo, on which we prefer the black and white version the most. They are also available on the site for anyone to download.
As I continue my work with guilds across the spectrum of raiding, I thought you'd all be interested in reading my blog post (on my research blog) about my interview with Method. :)
I'm also trying something new... might see how it looks here instead.. "raid-themed musical medleys"! See, researchers can be exciting too... seriously.
Anyway, enjoy. :)
So the Public Test Realm is back. Yay! It's like getting to pre-open our Christmas presents! Or get a sneak peek at the final exam questions from our "Intro to Quantum Mechanics" course. Or like finding out what you're going to look like in 20 years.
