Representativeness and Research
Merry Christmas everyone! For me, and as I expect for lots of other people, the Christmas holiday represents one of the finest opportunities to play one of the best games ever, namely World of Warcraft! I am now level 82 and just hit the level where things are getting even slower (I know, I level really, really slow, but sometimes taking some time with it can be neat also :)) Hopefully the pace will be picked up during my Christmas break and hopefully the rest of you guys will get some nice raiding done or even get to eat some awesome food with your friends and family the following days.
However, although food is great and all that, research never sleeps! I have gotten over 500 answers now in the survey but still I am looking for more! The more answers, the better the research (since quantity beats quality in my method!) But, I am lacking the new-player perspective on my research. Out the 500 answers only around 20 consists of players! Therefore, in order for my research to get the representativeness up I plead to all you guys to become my unpaid research assistants! If you know anyone of your friends that started playing recently (around 0-6 months ago) get them to answer my survey! http://wowdemocracy.wordpress.com
Also, if you come across a new player in the game, help him or her out (they might be your future guild mates) and as a thank you get them to answer my survey! Together we can get this to work :) At least I think so! Academia needs you, research needs you and most of all I need you! Together we will be awesome!
So don't be a Grinch, help me bring some Christmas joy to my home and go and get your friends to answer my survey!
Here is the link that takes you directly to the survey: http://www.easyresearch.se/s.asp?WID=794295&Pwd=11554819
