Paragon's "first day" progress
So the first "day" of Cataclysm is finally over for Paragon after over 31 hours of more or less serious playing. As the instances will reset in 15 minutes from the moment I'm writing this news post, we rushed to the instances to get as much out of em as possible.
We raided around 9 hours and managed to get the following bosses down on 25-man normal mode: Conclaive of the Four Winds, Omnitron Defense System, Magmaw, Atramedes, Maloriak, Halfus Wyrmbreaker and Valiona and Theralion (7/12).

unfortunate for the US that the EU got to get in a raid lockout before reset. That gives yall 6 free boss kills (loot).
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 07:46
Irrelevant. US suck at raids anyway.
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 07:50
Gratz, and keep it up!! :)
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 08:58
Compensation for the fact that US has gotten new patches/raids etc one day before EU for 6 years :D
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 09:13
Stomping all over Ensidia's progress :o
Begs the question though: are you guys just that good, or is it just that easy?
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 13:31
Thats the way it should be its made in the US.
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 14:58
Wonderful news, guys! :)
Keep it up! Oh and groovy new site, me likey.

1 day early patches pales in comparison to having an entire EXTRA raid lockout in the first week of a new expansion. That literally gives th EU a week head start on getting geared. Any first kills by EU should have an Asterisk accounting for the fact that blizzard gave them a week head start
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 15:12
One day =/= One week, I can't recall when we've had an entire extra raid lockout.
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 15:34
Screeshots please :)
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 15:46
You can check coverage there, if I miss inform about your progress or guild please let me know http://www.gamersbook.com/scene/coverages/
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 15:48
One reset really means extremely much with all the extra loot and valor badgers. Kind of stupid it went this way even when we benefited it.
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 15:50
Hardcore.
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 15:53
Didn't really take any. Just some crappy ones from random spots. We'll pay more attention to it on heroic modes.
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 15:57
Gratz for you, guys. That were kills at the speed of light ;-)
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 16:58
Grats on the amazing progression guys, once again blowin em outta the water. I'm wondering how the parses are looking though, post please!!
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 17:56
One day is a HUGE adventage when it comes to world firsts, much more than a couple pieces of gear are.
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 18:30
Really niceley done, you go paragon! Was it hard ? :D and by that I mean atleast a couple of wipes per boss? for us normal ppl it will probably be lots of wipes to come!
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 21:55
butthurt yank much?
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 22:07
you made it but youre still useless at playing it
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 22:09
Keep it on!
Wed, 08/12/2010 - 23:56
whitekniting fanboy faggot much?
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 01:08
Don't act like it's never been in EU favor before. The only reason Nihilum got world first C'thun is because EU got the patch first.
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 01:10
What a great thing to say.
Keep up the great work guys!!! Greetings from the US.
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 01:56
Do you have any strats drawn up like you did for H:LK available? How similar are the fights to the beta-testing runs?
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 03:27
Oh please, the US is so used to be prioritized and get everything first that when the EU finally gets a slice of the good stuff you act as if it's the end of the world.
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 08:54
There are some changes on the fights but sadly we are super busy with all the gearing and raiding and really don't have the possibility to just sit down and write the tactics up. Lets see when we hit the hard mode wall :)
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 12:34
Amazing!.... Hope to see you guys on top for the rest of this expansion. Also read over the posts... I am from the US and I think it's great that a European guild is on top. They are better gamers... period.
Keep up the good work!
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 16:01
"you act as if it's the end of the world."
Not really. He used the word "unfortunate." He's far from freeking out.
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 17:19
There was a time when people tryd to kill 1 boss over weeks and nowadays you deal with half the addon in 2 days. This game is becoming more and more uninteresting tbh.
Cant believe Blizzard works about months on a software which last like 1 week.
They should stop publishing content on a betaserver so its really new stuff when it comes out.
hf anyway
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 17:25
I'd like to point out that these were normal modes. We are having trouble killing some of these (mainly because of gear of course), and hard modes were really freaking hard on ptr at least. I'm really looking forward to those. In my eyes the overall difficulty has been quite fine so far for _normal_ modes.
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 17:30
Hardmodes aren't Content, they're the same instances, same bosses, same atmosphere, just another or more abilisites ...boring- no content
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 18:37
Yeah well, in my opinion hard modes are the only "content" that matters. But I get your point, should have used a better term.
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 18:43
Hmm, that's nice, but 31 hours sitting on the same computer screen...?
Man you guys have to get out more, I bet you don't even have friends outside of World of Warcraft..
Oh well, as much as that sounds impressive to the World of Warcraft community.. it doesn't sound so in the normal world community.. you guys are useless.
Any way, good job having no real goal but to be the best in a fictional game, hmm yeah that sounds impressive...
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 18:44
Lets see ...
I was only in hope of a BC addon not WOTLK². Epics should be epics and not freebies. =)

My god what bigass douchebag you are. If you think that they're such loosers, then why in the world are you hanging around their site??
It's people like you that create hate on the internet.
Just go die.
Thu, 09/12/2010 - 19:26
It's funny, you say I'm the one creating hate on the internet yet you said : "Just go die"...
Besides, all I was doing was expressing my opinion, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks that way..
I'm a World of Warcraft player as well, I'm interested in progression etc.. yet I won't spend 31 hours sitting on the same computer screen, doing something that won't be useful in any kind of way for my real life.. hence Paragon, and a lot of other guilds out there for that matter, are lifeless.. they should make a title in-game for people like that :)
Fri, 10/12/2010 - 11:07
who are you to question how these guys spend their time? this obviously gives them a sense of accomplishment and joy. somepeople spend hours and hours training for sports to be the best in the world so they acnieve a sense of accomplishment, this is the same. These people are obviously having fun, i dont see it your place to question that. Simply put, keep your opinion to yourself, if you didn't play the game yourself i don't see how you would know about Paragon, so you criticising them bamboozles me to be honest. I say well done you guys really have dedication, this level of dedication is not for some evidently. I hope you still have fun in the future as you really are the best in the world at what you do.
Fri, 10/12/2010 - 11:10
And while you might spend multiple evenings a week for the next months trying to beat content, as the majority of the players in WoW do, Paragon has stuff on farm and raids 1-2 a week. Sure they still play a lot besides that, but that is everyones choice. People in the guild study or work to a huge degree, so there is a lot of "normal" life for them.
There is a difference between hardcore and no-lifer. One wants to achieve. The other just can't stop playing, regardless of what. And Paragon are hardcore. But no no-lifers.
Fri, 10/12/2010 - 11:46
What the hell are you talking about?
You're comparing sports to a fictional game?!
Fuck no it's not the same at all..
Fri, 10/12/2010 - 17:05
@Ohya
Let alone that these were normal modes, this is the world's NUMBER ONE raiding guild. They use communication and encounter studying to down these bosses as fast as possible.
Tell me, if Blizzard was to make an instance difficult enough to keep these guys working on them for months on end, then VERY FEW people world-wide would down them, EVER. I can understand adding more levels of difficulty, or even more bosses at different levels of difficulty (and that would take a lot of work and time, they could be spending on improving the quality of the NEXT instance), but to the general public the current system seems to be working fine. Of course these guys are gonna plow through this content in no time flat, they're #1 for a reason.
Fri, 10/12/2010 - 17:06
"There is a difference between hardcore and no-lifer. One wants to achieve. The other just can't stop playing"
Yeah well I don't see how sitting for 31 hours playing the same game is not considered "can't stop playing" to you..
That being said, yes they are "no-lifers".
Fri, 10/12/2010 - 17:08
Nope. They just wanted to get done in order to be the first in the world. Sometimes that means investing a lot of time into the game. That is the same as if you practice for a world championship. Before that you'll practice a lot more than on average. Once it is over, you go back to normal. That is the same here. Top guilds will race to max level and through the dungeons in order to get world-first on raids. And when 90% of the raides are still trying to get stuff down, they have it on casual farm in 2 nights a week.
You just seem to have a problem accepting that they are willing to invest almost 31 hours of constant play into achieving something. It happens rarely and is only done when there is something to achieve.
Fri, 10/12/2010 - 19:37
Indeed! :)
Fri, 10/12/2010 - 19:46
The only thing that matters in this comparison is the fact that it is possible to clear the first content with lvl equipment partly green no matter of how good this guild is.
So as these guys are not capable of 2 brains or 6 hands each, its only influenced by global time used.
Even a random guild will do this in 1 week or 2 later.
Fri, 10/12/2010 - 19:50
actually both wow guilds and sporting teams works together using teamwork and cohesiveness to achieve a common goal. Whether that be using teamwork and coordination to down a raid boss or score a goal. Both use the same techniques, both achieve success. So they are a lot more similar than you think mate.
Sat, 11/12/2010 - 00:23
You have the Right to say your opinion...On another internet site.Maybe Paragon are ''nolife'' Like you call them. But did blizz invite you for the blizz convention ? Are you in the best Wow Guild ? Are you Skillz As they are ? Did you Kill the LK Without the 30% Buff before the 4.0.If you wanna say your opinion and talk shit about Paragon...then go on another site Because here it is the Official Site of The BesT World Of Warcraft Guild Ever.
Greeting From Montréal,Canada
Good Job Paragon BTW
P.S Like i said before:If you come to insult Paragon , At least if you have balls and wanna have some credibility...Show your reel name .
Sat, 11/12/2010 - 01:06
There's nothing in the world that's worth doing more than the thing that makes you happy :)
Sat, 11/12/2010 - 05:01
Pretty sure they make money out of it.
9 hours is a normal working day.
What was your point again?
Sat, 11/12/2010 - 06:29
I doubt that they make a single cent out of it. They receive free hardware from Steelseries which boils down to mice, keyboards, mousepads or headsets. And they get invited to lans where the trips are paid to a certain degree (e.g. might not include money for food for example).
Next week some of them are probably already back to work or have exams as the holidays are soon starting.
