Kil'jaeden down!

...almost three years ago. It was summer, the last months of the Burning Crusade, when everyone was already waiting for Wrath of the Lich King to be launched. Many guilds had problems with Sunwell when their players took it easy and enjoyed the summer. Two Finnish guilds, Knockout and Sauna also struggled with their rosters and 17.8.2008 Seita contacted Baltha to chat about making a brand new Finnish hard core raiding guild.

And so, only four days later, on 21.8.2008 Paragon was created. The new guild prepared to start raiding seriously in WotLK, but they made a Sunwell run for fun and took down Kil'jaeden on 6.10.2008 just before the big nerfs. Most likely many of them knew, that their first instance last boss kill would lead to many more, but nobody could have guessed where the guild would be three years later.

Paragon has now been three years old for a bit over a month. Of course birthdays are cool, but we prefer celebrating our first end boss kill anniversary a lot more. Of course we wouldn't be where we are now without the hard work of our all our guild members (a little trivia: so far there have been 75 different people playing in Paragon). We've also gotten a lot of help along the journey from our sponsors Asus, SteelSeries, and Dream, but of course all of you who have been cheering us on, some of you who have been doing it already since the early ToCG times.

Now we'd like to invite you to join the celebration of the anniversary of our first instance last boss kill. It's time for you to show us yourselves and your skills in action! We are having a fun competition, open for everyone, to say

"Happy birthday Paragon"

which can be also in form of "happy anniversary of your first instance last boss kill". But please don't use that line, it's way too complicated! The entries should be emailed paragon[at]paragon.fi latest on Wednesday 5.10.2011. On Thursday 6.10 (that is, October 6th), we'll pick three winners who'll all receive a SteelSeries product of their choice shipped to their home. We'll also be publishing all the entries on our website starting on Monday 3.10. for all our readers to see.

Details of the entries

The entries can be pretty much anything you can think of, that can be somehow emailed to us. Want to gather up with your friends and make a pyramid that forms the words Paragon? Why not, just ask someone to take a picture of it! Want to draw Seita disconnecting during our Lich King world first kill? Sure, go ahead! Want to write a poem about the state of shamans and honor our lonely shaman, Kahva? You got it!

Basically, the idea can be anything creative. Just have the "Happy birthday Paragon" part somewhere in the file (picture, video, photo etc.), it can for instance be in the signature in the corner. Here below are listed some formats that your entry could be in:

When e-mailing your entry to us, use topic "Happy birthday Paragon - ENTRY". Also please include your nickname (or real name if you want us to use it) to the email, as well as the name of your entry .You can also add some text for everyone to read which we'll publish with the entry. You don't have to be able to fit the file to the email if it's too large; the email can also contain a link to your work where we can download it from.
