We managed to get Al'akir down during tonight's beta testing. The boss was really interesting with a few different phases and some really cool (looking) mechanics. The last phase required some thought but eventually we nailed the tactics and killed the boss. There was also a bug with the storm clouds sometimes being invisible and ticking multiple times in one second, killing the people instantly.
The raid testing for Cho'gall started on Thursday all of a sudden, but we were kind of expecting for it despite no announcement being made. We got a raid group together pretty quick and went to town on it. Not only does Cho'gall have the ability to corrupt players and turn them into monstrosities, he's also able to cast raid-wide mass disconnects and cause crashes. We gave up after knowing the basics of the fight and occasionally spending 15+ minutes after a wipe getting everyone back inside. The instances were quite bugged out, but it's understandable since the game is still in beta testing.
We are excited to announce that Paragon has been invited to Blizzcon by Blizzard itself. Lazei and Ilonie traveled to Anaheim, California, to take part of the event and raid there. Yes, there will be a live raid on Saturday (this night) at 1:30 CET. The whole guild is excited to see what Blizzard has schemed for us. Expect articles and photos on the event from these guys, and maybe thoughts about the liveraid from the rest of us in Finland.
Another day of beta raid testing is now behind and we gotta admit that we are satisfied. Maloriak and Atramedes were tested in Blackwing Descent and Ascendant Council in Bastion of Twilight. Maloriak was a bit boring, but we found Atramedes being interesting lore, mechanics and encounter -wise. He also has a super cool model. What we really loved though was Ascendant Council. The fight itself is full of interesting mechanics that require quick reaction skills and good raid awareness. A lot of great ideas were mashed together to form an encounter that is actually challenging even on normal mode. We can't wait to see the hard mode, really good job with this encounter Blizzard!
Tonight there should have been a testing for Maloriak and Atramedes in Blackwing Descent. Unfortunately the instance servers didn't work and we waited for one hour in front of the instance before the testing was moved to another date.
We finished tonight's beta raid boss testing a few minutes ago and were able to clear all the encounters available; Chimaeron in Blackwing Descent, Theralion and Valiona in The Bastion of Twilight, and Conclave of Wind in Throne of the Four Winds.
Tonight there was a testing of two Cataclysm raid bosses; Omnitron Defense System In Blackwing Descent and Halfus Wyrmbreaker in The Bastion of Twilight.
