I've been using this spec for the full duration of Cata already:

Hunter:
http://www.wowhead.com/talent#ccZf0MZcbGcMhrRsk:sRm (with those prime glyphs)
Pet:
http://www.wowhead.com/petcalc#0md00sc00hoko

with that i'm doing about 400-500 More DPS than with your spec and the pet talents below. Am I doing something wrong?
Pet:
http://www.wowhead.com/petcalc#0md00sc00hoob
(EDIT: i choose that pet spec cause I thought it would go best with Sic 'em Talent)

-with my old spec with just the 300 agi flask, no other buffs(whoops forgot roar of courage!), 15.4K DPS (yours; 14.9-15.0)
EDIT: pet was 11% total dmg before, 13% new spec

my rotation:
Explosive > Black arrow > SS > (Arcane shot if possible with the focus 'n all)

got any info on this or as I asked before, am I doing something wrong?

Regards,
Jarah

How did you test the difference? A single boss kill for each spec is not a very good test, given the large expected variance in data. A test dummy whacking session, even a long one, does not properly simulate raid combat, as you're missing a lot of buffs and debuffs and don't have to move (meaning One with Nature is overvalued, as it only helps when you have Aspect of the Hawk active).

Additionally, even for standstill fight your spec shows a ~440dps loss in simulation (for my gear, which probably has a lot more crit), so if it does in fact work better ingame there's something the simulators are missing that ought to be figured out and fixed...

yes it was on a dummy(haven't have time to check it in raids yet). but keeping in mind that the talents that matter for buffs and Movement are the same. I can't imagine it being allot different. just on another scale. (And @ some bosses, like council p2, your pet has to move allot and wont do as much dmg as otherwise, making your spec even less viable for that fight?

Also, I'm placing myself so that I don't have to move allot(unless it's hard on healers). which works with the one with nature talent :)

And I don't think I've had a fight yet where Fox > Aspect of the Hawk(minus conclave maby).

link to my char. so you can compare stats.

I'll do some more research on it in upcoming raids(maby you can call a good boss to test it on?) and i'll reply with more info.

EDIT: what simulation have you used btw?

awaiting your response :)
