I watched the video of the Heroic Ascendant Council kill, and I couldn't help noticing all the locks popped Infernal in Phase 3 instead of Doomguards. What's the reasoning for this?

Well obviously, but what causes the aoe guardian to do more damage on a single target encounter than the single target guardian? :p
