best hunter spec ??

first of all... GZ on the Nefarian 25 player HC world first kill :D and GZ on all the other World first kills...
now to my question...

I am a BM hunter whos being told almost every day to respec survival becouse apparently its better... i was survival in wotlk and i decided to go BM in cata becouse i thought it was best... now, here i stand and dont know wtf to do... should i respec surv and do more damage (if its true that its better) or stay as a BM wich i lvl'd in cata with and atm knows best ? or should i go MM and start from the beggining??

please help!

If you want to be a good hunter, you're never "BM hunter" or "SV hunter" or "MM hunter", you're simply "hunter" and spec whatever the situation requires. At the moment, the situation is such that SV is the best dps spec by far, however if the raid setup is lacking a retri paladin bringing a BM hunter is the next best solution.

What you should do is to learn to play any spec needed, and always bring the spec needed for the current raid setup and boss. At the moment that means having SV and BM specs ready to go, with a good selection of pets for raid buffs and other specific utility purposes.

okay... i got a surv OS so theres fine... that brings me to a new question... i have a core hound for my Bm spec and a wolf for my SV spec... should i kep my wolf for find a new one ?

Any ferocity pet is fine when you don't need a specific buff or debuff to complement the raid setup. Since you can now have 5 pets available any time you want, it would make sense to go tame a few new ones with useful buffs or debuffs, though.

So, right now sv is the higher dps spec for hunters an one of the top dps specs of all the game so my question is; with the nerf of -25% black arrow base damage, -25% explosive shot damage and 5%- agility, like how much dps will this lower sv down??

Marksman will be the top spec again when the patch goes live. Here are my results.

Survival
Combined: 21485.56 100.00%
Hunter: 18766.16 87.34%
Pet: 2719.40 12.66%
Previous: 22529.06 -1043.5 (Previous is before i enabled ptr changes)

Marksman
Combined: 23297.65 100.00%
Hunter: 19762.15 84.82%
Pet: 3535.50 15.18%
Previous: 20110.80 +3186.85 (Previous is before i enabled ptr changes)

If you cant make that out, it means Survival is suffering a 1043 dps nerf whilst Marksman is receiving a 3186 dps buff (in my gear). This actually puts Marksman ahead of Survival even as it is on live right now.
