Hello :) I need an advice to substitute my secondary profession (mining) ... I was thinking about lw or jw. Looking to the next expansion, which one is better, keeping in mind that I already have engineering at almost 450 ? If you need, here is my armory: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Crushridge&cn=Akr%C3%B8n
Sorry for my bad english ç__ç cya ^^

Currently there are no cata agility enchants on wrists, so leatherworking is worth around 100 agility while blacksmithing, alchemy and such are worth 80 (jewelcrafting gives 81 agi).
Engineering has no melee enchant at the moment but there's a 480 int use that has a 20% uptime. Assuming that there will be a similar agi enchant when cata releases engi will be worth 96 agility + it has some other useful tools like rocket boots and the belt absorb use. Engineering also gets a free epic helmet, which may or may not be better than our tier part but atleast you can get it easily.
Personally I've farmed the lw materials, but I'm still not sure whether I'll drop JC or engi or if I even want to drop either of them. There's still a chance that they will include a 50 agility wrist enchant (which drops the worth of lw to 80 agi) and the 480 agi use for engi on launch (which makes engi clearly the best profession as it also has useful tools), so I'll wait for that before I decide.

Thank you for the answer, probably I'll wait for the exp going live, than I'll decide. However I don't know if I'll get jw or lw, I don't like cutting gems, since I started playing WoW I would work with leather ... lol. This change of profession is also guided by a PvE purpose, even if I do PvP too, I want to improve my global DPS in raid ^^

Diahi, I have a question for you about tailoring cloak enchant, it procs 1k AP and I have not info about the proc rate, but it's interesting... What you think about tailoring for rogues, LW + Tailoring to maximize dps, or JC and LW will be better in your conception.

http://elitistjerks.com/f78/t105429-cat ... ost1818780 , some information on the tailoring enchant.
I'd go with lw / jc for now. Can't be arsed to drop engineering yet because they haven't said anything about it, but on the other hand it's not really worth capping either in case they aren't going to fix the glove enchants to benefit melee classes aswell. Too bad I can't ask on the forums where blue posters actually answer to questions.

As we have seen from previous patches in WOTLK, they are trying to balance all the profession bonuses, so to be honest if you go to LW or JC in the end it wont make a difference. I'm got enchanting and leatherworking and use alts for farming. So use an alt for mining and pick another "crafting" profession.Do that after you've scooped your server's AH and made an estimation of the cost.

The thing is that there might be months before the next patch actually gets released. Even in WOTLK after all the patches there were definitive professions to have if you wanted to min/max (engi / jc). The difference between 130 agility from LW and 113 haste (normal bracer enchant and engi glove tinker) is pretty major and if you're going to raise a profession there's no reason not to raise the best one.

Leatherwork is a must, for leather users, anyways. Especially when a new expansion comes out its a way to gear up your character other than the special profession enchants :)
The craftable chest and belt are exactly the same as all the 359 leather agility drops from all the raids so far. The only difference is that the dropped ones got a bit less stats and 2 gem slots for more customization.
I agree with Rakez about leatherworking but lou_bot havent told us which is his other profession ;p

My other profession is Engineering, but I don't want to delete this profession to start another one, it's too expensive :(

I want to ask what is the best Professional in 4.06 after Jewelcrafting if blizzard patched the 50 agi enchant on bracers in.
