Iiris: why crit over haste?

So I'm wondering what's up with our stat priorities at the moment, since the top retpaladins seems to be split into two camps at the moment; one favoring crit over haste and vice versa.

It was pretty apparent back when we could actually reach a 3s CS cooldown that Haste was the premier secondary stat (up until the softcap) however now things have seemed to get a bit more blurry.

According to Exemplars sheet, using 2 fillers is always a dps gain over using 1, which means the value of having a lowered crusader strike cooldown is somewhat diminished. However, haste also increases censure tick rate, melee attack speed and most importantly the amount of AoW procs we get (which is one of our strongest attacks).

Looking over the top ret parses on WoL (I'm aware that a lot of guilds keep their logs private right now), it seems that those that are ranked highest on most bosses are all preferring haste. However rets like you and Fayz (and a handful of others I've checked) is reforging into crit over haste.

So I'm wondering what the reasoning for this is (because of the 2 filler argument?), or if you have some more recent maths or even anecdotal experience in preferring this way over the other.

Peace from a fellow ret (in times where we are looking pretty grim overall)

Hello Mew.

I'm preferring crit over haste because both Exemplar's and Redscape's spreadsheets show its slightly better than haste, and I think both of these guys produce the most accurate ret pala theorycrafting at the moment, there isn't really any other reason behind my decision.

I think looking at WoL logs or any other logs at this stage is kinda pointless if you didn't look at hundreds of them to get better overview since most of the top guilds aren't even posting their logs (like you said) and the fights are new to everyone so people don't necessarily know how to play the most efficiently in the fights and perform their best.
