The forum name (which also happens to be one of my alt's name) is a short form of my real name.
I got Koljo (my original main) in a time when I wanted uncommon names from far obscure countries mythology (Finland looked very far/obscure by that time. I also tried hungarian mythology). Happened to find in some book I was reading at the time that Koljo would be some evil spirit, a god of death who lived in the depths of a lake or something like that. Since my first choice "Hiisi" was already taken, I picked Koljo ;P
My other toons' names lack of a story, except for Towandah, that I got from Green Fried Tomatoes. That parking lot scene is one of my all times favorite (:

Guilty. I have to admit, I thought that scene was awesome. :)

The name Kruf was originally created for Dark Age of Camelot, since the ones I usually use were all taken and weren't terribly fitting for the Norse mythology setting (was playing on Midgard faction there), so I just smashed my hands on keyboard until something workable came up.
Since then, pretty much all of my characters have been named with random keyboard smashing, with the exception of some bank alts (and a character that was made to be a bank alt but ended up being my second raiding alt).

Opex written with english letters but appearing like in Bulgarian (read "Oreh") means 'walnut' (nut). Comes from 'as hard as a nut' because like personality irl i am.

Looking back, it seems very immature, but I was playing a MUD (text based mmo), which let you set (almost) whatever title you wanted after your name.
So I chose my name as "Teh" so I could at level 25 (title level) give myself title "Teh Win".
Yeah it was back in the day when FTW was a new thing... :)

Stannislaus comes from a very controversial series of books, "His Dark Materials". It is the name of a character who is an explorer, Stannislaus Grumman.
When I decided to make my DK alt I wanted to name him Grumman, but that was unavailable, so I changed it to Gromman.
My shammy Dalari was a result of the random name generator. It came up with Dalaree, so I changed the ee to an i.
