We are recruiting pretty much all the time. There is more information about that in Info tab (in Finnish).

Crazy coincidence! I've been a fan of your videos and had no idea you were a Finnish guild. I just moved from Boston to Jyväskylä to attend the university here a few months ago. I've been studying Finnish and looking for a good strong motivation (since all my classmates are bemoaning how useless Finnish is globally, which I disagree with since if you are living in Finland it doesn't really matter globally since basically everybody in your 'world' speaks it as a native tongue). Well now I have a dream that can spur me on :) Play WoW in Finnish! woo hoo.

welldone901, we have had a lot of people asking us if they can join the guild and when they get told "you need to be able to speak and understand Finnish" say that they'll start taking Finnish lessons. You are the first one I've heard who is actually studying Finnish.

Hmm, thanks for the compliment. I did notice that tendency among other foreigner's I've met here. My situation may be different though. For one, I lived in Japan and learnt Japanese through self study in a relatively short time. So I'm fairly confident I can study Finnish successfully (Most people say "It's too hard to learn since it's different than roman languages." I say "At least they use an alphabet!") Also my wife is planning to start her PhD here, so it looks like I'll be here long term, possibly permanently, so that motivation is quite higher than say a 6 month exchange student or something like that.
Basically I'm saying I don't blame them, learning languages is work! :) I just consider myself lucky that I have strong reasons to spur me on. And now I have another :D Of course I don't believe I'll actually make it in Paragon, but pretending I might provides enough entertaining thoughts to learn a few more words, and it snowballs from there. Actually the story of how I learnt Japanese is quite similar and hilarious. I really wanted to yell at my boss in his own language, and that thought drove me on in my studies for two solid years (even though I knew that I would never do it actually). Haha. I'm trying to build up similar things for Finnish. Choir is already a blast. You guys have such amazing choirs here! I joined one but I can't understand much yet :/
On a wow related note, I just watch the video recap of you all Live Raiding at the Blizzcon and it was spectacular. Really fun to watch and see how fast you coordinate and solve complex encounters. Yay for your Paladins who were in California! Did you enjoy the Deathwing flyby at the end :)

Olen tentti maanantaina = I'm an exam on Monday.
Minulla on tentti maanantaina = I've got an exam on Monday.

In continuance to Xeno', the Finnish verb "olla" represents both "to have" and "to be" (leading to a scenario of "I have/am an exam."), its meaning indicated by inflections in both the sentence's subject and the verb itself.
Compare;
Minä olen… = I am…
Minulla on… = I have…

I think learning Finnish is even more of a pain in the ass than German would be since it has even more grammar cases from what I know.

I think the only language with more grammar cases than Finnish is Hungarian if I'm not mistaken;
I'm working on my Finnish as well, but so far the only think I remember at the moment it: Minä olen nainen. Minä en ole mies.
:x
and I'm sure I'd have this funny accent trying to speak those senteces :x
