Whenever i see a very high ranked kitty in a raid, I notice that their top 3 attack percentages are Shred, Melee, and rip. All are about the same percentage. Now i know that rip is dependent on ArP, but I don't see why my rip is half as low as the rest of my attacks. (My dps is almost ALWAYS [Shred (30%), Melee(30%), Rip(12%)]) and that's for single targets. If its my overall damage, swipe completely OP's everything else, and swipe is usually around 40 to 50% of my damage. The only reason i really care is because when i do great overall dps, i always get "Whatever, your dps is all swipe anyways"

Unfortunately, my guild, though somewhat reputable, rarely uses WOL's. Closest thing i have to go off of is recount, and I don't believe it has a export log feature. I'm going to try to get a log for my next raid done, and I'll re-post if that's fine.
:: What MAY help however, is if a win kitty (such as xodan) posted their logs? I know mine will be drastically different, but it's something to go off of for the time being.

For single target dps the percentages should be around 35% melee, 30% shred, 15% rip, 12% rake and rest FB at Saurfang, which currently seems the best gauge for single target 'dummy' dps. Shred might a tiny bit inflated and rip a tiny bit deflated due to shortness of fight, but not much. I also checked some other parses from top ferals and they all had similar percentage distribution.
In that light your 12% doesn't seem that much off. Might be just variation due to lower gear lvl and different bosses. But it would really help to see some logs to check where you stand within your guild. If you have damage meters on and you are constantly within top 10 of your guild, I wouldn't worry too much. Also spec, glyphs and enchants/gems seem good. Gear could be better, but that will improve in time.
