Hello.

I'm a Full arp Hunter (1404 Buffed) My Gear is on your Level(only lady 10man Bow sucks..), but I have no chance to keep up with your dps values.

As an Exemple

Festergut 8.8-9.5k

I use this Rotation:

SrS, CS, AiS, RF 4x Steady CS, AiS, Readiness, Cs, Steady, AiS then the CS, 2x Steady AiS 2x Steady Rotation...

I play with KS, SS ans SrS Glyph.

Whats my Fault?:/

First of all, Festergut is not exactly a great boss for dps comparison, because of the luck factor on getting the gas. Something like Saurfang numbers would probably be better, though even then you have to consider if the person was shooting at the adds or not and if he was putting down traps or not.

You didn't provide armory link so I can't comment on gear - do note that weapon dps is very important for MM so having lower ilevel weapon will drop your dps a bit. (Far as I remember the scaling factor for my gear is roughly 9 total dps per 1 weapon dps gained.) Also note that while arp is the best stat, it isn't by any means an überstat - if you have to choose between 40 agi and 10 arp you should still go for the agi.

Using a fixed rotation does not work for MM, not with the cookie cutter specs at least, since Improved Aspect of the Hawk procs throw the timings out of sync. Instead you should be using a priority rotation, using whatever comes off cooldown. Chimera Shot > Kill Shot > Aimed Shot > Steady Shot and macro Silencing Shot to Aimed Shot or Chimera Shot or both or whatever.

Managing cooldowns is important also if the fight is short; if you're sure you can get your cooldowns used twice (ie. the fight is longer than 3min 30sec) it's better to blow all cooldowns right away when the combat starts, but if the boss is likely to die in less than 3min it's better to wait for trinket/set bonus procs before activating Rapid Fire etc. Macro Call of the Wild to Rapid Fire or use it manually when you have some haste buff up. It's better to use Rapid Fire and haste potions when you do not have Bloodlust/Heroism up, but again, it's better to get the cooldowns used twice than to delay them and only get them once.

Readiness should be timed so that you use it right after using Chimera Shot (and Aimed Shot also if possible) to maximize the benefit, since it resets the cooldown of all shots also.

You can also gain some dps (especially if you have 2t9 equipped) by reapplying Serpent Sting when you have the optimum procs on (AP does not roll, but damage modifiers like 2t10 proc do) and then keeping it rolling with Chimera Shot, however this does not work on bosses where you have to switch targets enough to make the sting drop.

Thanks for your Reply.

But these days i turn to 3x264t10 and 1 t10 251 with the Craftable ICC Pants.

And you tried to use Imp SS procc for AiS? Or Shot Ais instantly after Cs?

What are your experiences with the Killshot Glyph to CS Glyph?

You're pretty far over hitcap, I'd suggest dropping one point from Focused Aim into Rapid Recuperation and gemming the needed one hit/agi gem - this helps a lot if you ever run out of mana. And if you always have a draenei in group you could drop another point from Focused Aim into either Rapid Recuperation or Improved Hunter's Mark.

Don't bother delaying anything for the procs. It's almost always likely to be a dps loss.

Kill Shot is better if the boss spends enough time under 20% (Anub'arak, anyone?), however Chimera gives slightly more room in refreshing sting on multiple targets. Aimed gives theoretically slightly more dps but leads to some overlap with Chimera cooldown making the rotation somewhat annoying. Generally you should choose glyphs (and talents, in some cases) to suit the fight.

Hi Kruf, I was wondering if there is a particular mod that you use to track this? Something that tells you "Hey you have a high amount of AP!" I found a minimap addon that displays the AP right below my minimap, so what I've been doing is just looking at it from time to time and when it's in the 12k AP range I will refresh my sting.

"You're doing it wrong!"

AP does not roll. Only percentual damage modifiers and crit chance roll (and the latter makes no difference unless you're wearing 2T9).

And no, I don't use any special addon for it, the only thing you need to watch is 2T10 proc since it's by far the biggest modifier you can roll. Using more than one GCD to reapply "better" sting during a typical 2-3min fight is dps loss, especially if not done very early in the fight.

Gotcha, I don't play MM very often but had heard the concept from other hunters before. Thanks for the heads up.

There is addon called SerpentStinger that tracks your SS damage I have found it to be somewhat useful atlest when I was using 2pT9 heres a link to it:
