Frost dps

So yeah I've been playing frost dps on my DK lately, doing around 13.5k-14k dps on spank fights like saurfang hc and stuff. I do however have a question for synti:
What is the best time to use Pestilence? Forte is tracking my diseases but sometimes I'm afraid to get a massive 7 sec cooldown on pestilence so that would mean that my diseases would wear off and that means a big dps loss.

Would you suggest using it lets say 8/9 secs before they wear off or try to time them into the last second?

Also, I'm planning to gem arp once I'm able to get to 100% with gear. Would you suggest that? Most sim's say its about a 600 dps increase due to higher obliterate hits and stuff.

Im not synti but I guess I can respond to the disease question.

The optimal time to refresh diseases with pestilence is in the 0-3s time frame. drop the idea of refreshing them every 9s. Not only would that be quite a dps loss, but it would also be very unneccesary since its not hard at all to refresh them proberly, unless your just a really bad player in the first place :) Get a good addon to track your runes, and its a cakewalk. If you are wondering what runeaddon to get, go check out the screenshot of synti's ui, he's using a really great one for the job.

What Rukkia said about diseases.

I've tried full ArP gemming (reaching 100% with food buff) three times now. Every time I've been massively disappointed. Not only do I do less damage overall, I'm losing a crap ton of damage on good AMS soak fights. Saurfang is pretty much the only fight where ArP is decent at.

Not only that, but going for ArP screws up my Unholy gear too. Lose-lose.

What I use is called STUF. It's a very good set of unitframes. Very, very lightweight and has about n^9001 different options and settings to customize stuff to be the way you want it to. It also has the rune display that I'm using.

I use an addon called "Deathknight.info Runes" its a very visual way to keep track of your disease timers, I usually try and time my disease refreshes as close as possible to their expiration, sometimes within less than a second, that way I get the most ticks out of the diseases before refreshing.

Also btw, what's up with that deathknight.info site anyway? The guides and so on give downright false information on a ton of stuff. It makes me cringe. 8[

Aye tyvm for your help, today I was checking your armory again and found out that you gemmed arp (again?). Could you share us your thoughts about this attempt? Did it result in a big dps increase, etc.

Yeah, I did re-gem ArP again for the Nth time. I'm not entirely sure if I still like it or not. It's definitely nice on Saurfang though.

I did do fairly decent in this week's raid, no thanks due to refined play though. I did mess up quite a few times on more than one encounter (delaying UA etc, but still managed to sneak some top ranks). I'll post again after next week's raid - I just don't feel like I was reaching the potential at all.

What i can say atleast when it comes to saurfang aswell Synti witch i guess you know alrdy but if ur testing ur dps on fights like saurfang it can vary alot because of the proc from DBW and randome uptime on fallen crusader. What i have noticed is that my dps is lower on AoE fights like ghoul's Phase 1 and even valkyr's Phase 3 ect. But this again is because of gemming arp instead of strength.

i guess it ofthen comes down to AoE fights atleast now it isnt a problem for going ARP atall in the current state of ICC since well there isnt much of AoE fights (At least where you need to gem strength).

When you gem ArP aswell the playstyle changes so it depends if you enjoy playing that way focusing on keeping the runes on CD even if you get a RIME and KM proc. and then priorityze afther the situasjon your in 1 target or 3+

To me ARP gemming does imo the dmg where its needed on RAW bosses and does decent on AoE
