you cant compare combat rogues vs mutilate rogue. (except on encounters like festergut.(no adds) :). Yes, even saurfang has adds, and i have to use FoK there+not getting tricks.

As far as I can tell, under *optimal* conditions, each dps does around the same damage as one another.

Maybe for single targets (and with the introduction of STS not even close), however there are no true "patchwerk" fights anymore so basing stuff on that doesn't really work. Combat benefits more in those cases.
