Cataclysm Beta, the Q&A megathread

I really love what they did with leveling up, new skills and spell book.
When you ding you get this message.
If there are new abilities available, the game let's you know about it.
Your spell book will show all the abilities you'll get to the class. The higher level abilities that aren't yet available are grey but you can still scroll over them and see what they do. It really makes it easier to start with a new class as more information is available from the beginning. For example you can plan your leveling spec better.

Goblin start zone is probably the funnest questing experience I've had so far. So many laughs there.
And the only thing that sucks about leveling now is how you have to keep going back to trainers, I can say that in the goblin zone that even got quite hard unless I wanted to find my way back and walk for minutes. There was a great idea on the beta forums of how to do it different, I hope they at least check it out.

It would make leveling a lot smoother, and especially as they say, the storylines that you get in newer areas gets very interrupted by getting new abilities every two levels.

The latest big change was the complete overhaul and revamp of the talent point system and the way players get to use it. The simple question then is: What do you think about it?
I personally like the changes a lot because I think it gives WoW some more simplicity without making it boring. Over time Blizzard has made a lot of changes to the way players level (More XP rewarded, less XP for a level, Heirlooms, RAF) but this one feels the best so far for me. You get to stuck with one tree for a long time, helping new players to now completely fuck up their char by spending points in all trees (like I did when I started). For experienced players, allthough a lot of the talents are similar, this will still make leveling a little different and interesting maybe. Just to experience the alternation between points and abilities that one receives on a level up.
Combined with the LFG system it should lead to better groups on low levels, even if people do not have Heirlooms / PvP items. The role of a char is clear, and there are less non-sense abilities around.
The revamp has tickled me into trying to level a new char in Beta and once Cata is out just to experience this whole system from the start. Job well done imo Blizzard.

I'd say there's potential but right now many of the talent trees are so lacking/unfinished that you simply tunnel 31 points into them. If they manage to introduce interesting talents and actually forcing meaningful choices, it'll be nice. If not... well, it's not like there's a lot of variety right now either for most on live.

I'm not entirely sure what arx is talking about - the trees probably just aren't quite as interesting with druid as they are with some other classes. If they aren't, I'm hoping the less interesting trees and specs get some love and actually have some real choices to make. I'd like it if there were some more situational talents added still that wouldn't benefit your character 24/7.
Overall, I like the change a lot. There was such a huge amount of dead weight hanging on the talent trees. I'm slightly impressed that the development team can make such a radical design decision at this point still. A lot of the passive talents were just very boring and mandatory anyway - and you had to include similar ones for a lot of classes.
Only gripe I got is that I feel like we're still lacking ~5 talent points even at max level. There would be a ton more interesting specs to use and choices to do if there were a few more points and few more active skills and situational talents. For example, choosing between filling up the last lucrative talents in main tree that are on the bottom which give a clear damage bonus vs. grabbing a cooldown skill in another tree.

My question is aimed at any Balance druids you might have,
Without having any chance at Beta myself I was wondering if you could answer a few provincial questions.
With the removal of the mana return from critting with improved moonkin Form are balance duids going back to the day of oomkins or does the passive bonus from Euphoria make up for that fact. I like being able to use innervate on others not myself.
With haste now being inate in cata is it now worth keeping dots up 100%.
And assuming any level 85 chars is there actually any pve use for magic mushrooms ? sorry "wild" mushrooms but for sure you know the name is going to take over.
I have 100's of questions but I dont wish to take up too much of your time.

ROGUES!
How does Bandit's Guile work exactly? The talent scription seems very vague.
Also if anyone is at 85 yet, what's your thoughts about rogue itemization.
