Heya, first time poster.
Had a question, is it worth breaking the T10 4-set bonus, to aim for the hard armor penetration cap, what´s your thoughts on that? Been thinking of replacing Tier 10 gloves for gloves with armor pen, but the 4-set bonus just feels so juicy.

Because they're worse than T9 and the crafted ones. "Nice source" doesn't cut it, you simply pick the item with the highest total value, and the T10 legs with that low-value haste simply aren't any good.
Ok I guess that makes sense. In that case, however, if I take the legs off for the crafted ones I will lose the set bonus. So until I get a 3rd piece of tier should I keep the legs anyhow, or get the crafted ones instead?

The 2piece setbonus is better than anything else you can have, so if you really don't have any other T10 piece to use keep the leggings on until you can get another piece.

The 4piece bonus is good, but not super awesome. It's also annoyingly random. You can reach hardcap with 4T10 on though, and that's what you should aim at - remember that you can get some arpen from foodbuff also.
As to whether you should break 4T10 for more arpen - I don't really know, have you tried checking with spreadsheet or simulationcraft?

Lailyne wrote:Anyway, Kruf quick question, I have a bit of gear that I need to switch out that has haste on it (in the process of trying to win those rolls!) along with the NES (which I can tell by reading you hate =P) so I definitely need a few upgrades. Im not doing terrible dps, about 9.5-10k on fights like Fester but Im just curious as to when the appropriate time is to switch out those agility gems for ArP? Ive tried theorycrafting and it just shows me getting a terrible dps drop whenever I were to switch. I was told to do it when I reach 400 ArP from gear just to hit soft cap but again, according to femaledwarf.com, Im showing a loss.
Did you remember to enable "best raid buffs" and "best raid debuffs"? I just checked and femaledwarf shows more or less +/-0dps between your current gems and full arpen. Note that even in full arpen gems you can't even reach the softcap - you really should start choosing gear with arpen on it... ;)
Lailyne wrote:Also, with my chestpiece - I have the Carapace at the moment and side by side it looks like the Tier 10 will actually be a loss in a number of things (agility and etc.) but for ArP alone it would be worth it am I correct? The Tier 10.5 on the other hand pretty much equals out stat wise, outside of a socket and lose of hit to ArP.
The upsides of the T10 chest are arpen and the setbonus. Never discount the value of the setbonus - while 4T10 isn't the best setbonus ever it's still worth keeping the pieces over slightly "better" non-set pieces.
Lailyne wrote:And finally, when I do replace that chest piece Im going to be under the 8% hit cap, it is okay to be at 6% from gear alone and 2/3 into focused aim? I just dont want to fall back into the missing shots or anything.
2/3 Focused Aim is my preferred way of playing - the talent has awesome value per point and there's not much else useful to spend the points on anyway. So 6% from gear is in my eyes quite optimal.

Besides the things you mentioned yourself, changing that herbalism to JC would give you a bit more dps.
Lailyne wrote:And as soon as I can get my hands on DBW or even the ToC (I think it is) one, itll be bye byes to NES!
You could check how well HWT does - while the haste on it is kinda crap the secondary bonus is pretty good since it has 100% uptime.

Thanks SO much for your help Kruf! Its very much appreciated :)
Regarding femaledwarf, I may have missed that option cause I manually chose my buffs/debuffs that we normally have. Must have accidentally skipped over the option to chose best buffs/debuffs, I will be more aware in the future. Thank you!
Good to know about the chestpiece, I will be saving up my next batch of frost badges to get the Tier 10 chest at least. And thank you for the tip about the hit and HWT as well, I will look into that as a replacement for my NES. With the NES the ArP softcap is around 725 or so correct? What would it be if I were to get rid of it if you dont mind me asking?
Also, do any of your hunters have IHM specced in? Cause as of right now, Im the only one with it, the other MM hunter had to place some points into Focus Aimed for his hit and the other is Survival so I dont want to bring a large dps loss to the raid by getting rid of it come the time. Im already partially considering dropping Trueshot Aura since its getting overwritten by Abom's Might in our raids.
Thanks so much!

Quick question that i have been looking for for a long time now...
is there a reason why you hunters in paragon don't have 100% apr? why is it around 96-99% all the time? is it becoues of apr food?
i am myself at about 97% apr atm so the question have kinda getting more and more important to me, ofc i can use apr food to reach about ~99.4% apr but a hard 100% cap before food sounds and should be better thoraticly or am i missing something here
looking around on all the datas and theory crafting i don't really se a point in not keeping it on the hardcap. as it seems that the last single percentages is the ones that makes the most, why waste it?
also, i haven't had time yet to check the full thread so I'm asking this also, which spreadsheet or simulator~ish do you guys recommend, i have ben using female dwarf for a long time now and for me it proves good (as i atm are top dps in my guild) but is there any better one?

Kruf (and huntin gurus),
I have a couple of questions around my gear choice, talents, and serpent sting application specifically; but first thing is my armory here: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... =razearrow
Please note I only play as MM now with a rather standard 7/57/7 with exception of maxing hit due to gear availability.
My questions are as follows:
1-) I chose to omit Dash in my wolf spec, concerned about the potential loss of focus; thoughts on this as I've most of you having Dash?
2-) Would it be wise to swap out NES for Greatness (or badge trinket), and fully regem ARP at this point? it just seemed no matter how I have tweaked the spreadsheet I seemed to get less dps in return; of course I hear you loud and clear NES is close to trash. (and I kind of concur lookin at my own procs)
3-) Your thoughts on timinig of re-applying serpent sting? I've been having a tough time deciding between culling herd and 2T10 proc but would love to get a rule of thumb here.
I am sure I must been doing something wrong there (partly also because we don't have the perfect raid set-up missing key debuffs); really admire you guys taking the time helping us hunters out. Much appreciated!

Hello, I am just curious to a few things that may increase my dps; Currently in my 25man runs with the Guild (casual raiding) I am able to push around 9.8k DPS. I am, sadly, using the NES, but I cannot seem to get WFS, DBW, or DV to ever drop and when they do, I lose the roll; and Greatness tends to run around 4k - 5k gold on my server currently.
My priority list is: Silencing Shot > Kill Shot > Serpent Sting > Chimera Shot > Aimed Shot > Steady Shot until CD's are up. I never use my Rapid Fire in conjunction with Heroism and I have my Armor Penetration as close to the Soft-cap as it can get with the damn NES.
on spreadsheets, it shows number of 10.2k to 10.3k dps, and I am 400-500 lower than the spreadsheets.
I am mostly just curious to see if there is anything you would recommend changing/improving Kruf.
thanks a ton, mate.
