Hallo everyone

I have three questions about DK dps theory and such.

First of all, I read that Engineering would be the best profession for a Meleedps Class (or has it changed with 3.3.3?). My DK has BS and JC atm, so which one should i drop for Eng? JC (42 Str.), BS (2 Sockets = 40 Str), but is there another advantage in BS that I forgot?

Second, right now I'm still playing UH 14/0/57. I'll try Frost as soon as I get 2x 264 Weaps for dw. But right now, would it be worth (using Shadow's Edge, so no Procweapon) to swich to a frost sub-specc? And if yes, is with the frost sub-specc ArP (also SA from Warrior) more important than with the old 14/0/57?

Third, I read that you use cinderglacier on a third weapon right at the beginning of a fight to get the 20% dmgbuff to buff mainly your diseases. But am I right that you can only buff IT but not BP with it?

Thx for help and have a nice day!

Hey guys, just a question about DW frost.

Here is my armory link, http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet ... g&cn=Queza

First time i ever played DW frost, did 10.7k dps on saurfang 25man but i found i had to stop dps'ing even with Hand of salvation from paladins due to aggro. Have you now opted for Subversion in the frost spec or have you not found threat problems yourselves?

Thanks for any replies

Queza

im having problems with the glyph of disease in my new unholy frost spec and im wondering if my rotation is wrong or if its just that theres something wrong with my gear etc.

armory: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... evolutions

rotation: IT > PT > BS > SS > BS > DC > (HoW) > SS > DC > SS as much as possible and BS as much as possible before reapplying pest

Devolution firstly onn your gear you have alot on expertise which you can afford to drop. 26 is cap.

In you Rotation try to start off with PS to procc Rage of Rivendere.I always fround that I had to reapply my diseases twice at the beginning to get all possible proccs.

Hello there Paragon DKs :)

Now i have a bunch of questions regarding frost pve.
1st question : Black Ice
How important is this talent compared to Chill of the Grave? I find my frost dmg to be a very small amount of my total dmg.

2nd question: runeforges
I notice youre using Razorice in MH and Crusader in OH, is this to be able to swap in a Cinderglacier weap for a longer duration?

3rd: Sigils
i find the Sigil of Awareness to be a minor dps boost (50-100) compared to Sigil of Virulence. Now i havnt tried out the new ICC sigil but will this sigil be superior on fights where you can keep it up constantly?

4th: Rime > Frost strike?
I cant figure out whether i should prio a Rime proc (without KM) over a Frost Strike?

5th : hit rating
as Frost DW the hit cap is only 164 but i see you DKs going for the 8% cap, is this to have less HB. IT and Pest misses or simply bcos you keep your gear viable for Unholy aswell? :)

Best

Congrats on LK Heroic kill!

Reading thru alot of the replies from Synti have been a big help so far so thanks alot for the responses even tho you don't really have to! must be alot of work for you each day helping out all the randoms like me asking for advice! Now here is my question if you'd be so kinda to give me your views on this. With the new frost changes im ofc DW frost spec now and im running the same spec as you apart from only 1/2 in CotG and im finding it fine in pretty much every fight apart from Saurfang, but on other fights with cleaver use of AMS RP isn't a problem! however my problem is somtimes im letting Rime procs go to waste cause I just simply don't have a spare GCD to use it in, and I was wondering if you have the same problem since with the changes the new prio list goes alittle somthing like this:

KM-Frost Strike
|
Keep Frost Plauge up
|
Keep Blood Plauge up
|
Obliterate (UF/Death Runes)
|
Blood Strike (if you have only Blood runes ofc off cd)
|
Frost Strike (if enough RP a free global and runes are on cd)
|
Rime
|
Horn of Winter

Pretty much the same depending on situations as the Ej post, since Obliterate and Frost strike are our hardest hitting attacks and Rime-KM is no longer top of our priority I was wondering how you handle this, ofc Rime might have abit more prio if you are in an AoE heavy fight like Arthas Valks/spirits or somthing but otherwise on single target 90% of the time my Rime procs are just going to waste! im ofc using GoD aswell and im really enjoying Frost it seems to run much smoother with a priority list and much easier to adapt to situations that you need to with alot of Hard Mode encounters, thanks in advance hope to read some much appreciated feedback soon!

Ty MoopZ i am currently trying to get rid of the expertise but am unsure which to get rid of so i will see as my gear comes. also as to proccing RoR first what other procs proc of off ur diseases? and is starting a fight with a cinderglacier weapon viable if ToTT isn't there or the rogue can't due to threat issues?

To Devo,

Generally speaking having Cinderglacier is more profitable but it's more convienient to get TotT. If the rogues are having threat issues or are worries as such as that you may over aggro at the beginning then perhaps let the tanks receive the initial TotT and the your self receive the second, this way you should be able to avoid over aggro.
If the rogues are doubtful and decide not to provide you with TotT then going with Ciderglacier is more of a personal choice. It is a DPS gain but you will have to deal with the fact that you will most likely lose out on some 15% STR uptime.
It's worth experimenting around to see how comfortable you feel with switching weapons watching proccs etc. Best to wait for a reply from Synti as I assume he playtested this alot more but you perhaps try

Weapon A ( FC rune) + Weapon B (cinderglacier rune)
Start the encounter with Weapon A and carry on until you get the rune procc and such switch to Weapon B while you still have FC procc up and hope you get the procc early. May be worth a try but like I said Synti will have more experience with this so it's best to wait for his reply.

To you other question about other proccs off diseases there is RoR off PS and there is the haste buff off IT if you area sub specc'ing Frost.

Generally you go - PS (RoR procc + Blood Plague) > IT (Haste + Frost Fever) > BS (Desolation) > BS > SS (Procc you Sigil) > (at this point 4pc T10 will kick in) Dc > HoW >>>>>> From here on its a prio system more than a rotation, which some people seem to forget. Depening on the encounter and when you receive bloodlust you could pop your Garg early with a Haste pot or save the Haste pot of you get the BL early or you could use the 2 together.
Try to use PS before IT so that the IT gets the 10% buff from RoR, although it seems better to use IT as you running in from range and then using PS when you get into melee range, the DPS increase is higher with PS first.

Sorry for the wall of text ! D:
