Demo 3/31/7 incinerate filler!?!

Hi everybody,

i saw a lot of high level warlock using the 3/31/7 spec with glyph of incinerate and improved corruption, and i was just asking myself about this strange choiche. In your guild i just found that on anyone of you and even if it's progress time and everybody wants to keep their secret of new discoveries, i think it would be cool to have an explanation from you about this.

I did my simulation and i found out that the classic 0/31/10 has an higher dps output on "patchwerk style", are you using it for hard movement pull or multidotting pull? Or you think it is a better choiche in every case?

With the changes to incinerate in the patch (the bonus damage from having immolate up now scales with spellpower), using incinerate as a filler with the glyph instead of the corruption glyph, and dropping 3/3 bane for 3/3 improved corruption yields higher single target dps.

Not sure what version of Simulationcraft you're running, but I did quite a few runs few days ago and 3/31/7 came out several hundred DPS ahead of others in patchwerk. Obviously the old spec is slightly better for multi-target situations as the 3/3 Improved Corruption doesn't really outweigh the casting speed penalty you get to Immolate.

im running the last version of simc ofc but i simmed on myself only, and since im not entirely 4.2 bis maybe i dont have enough spell power to make the 3/31/7 spec more powerful than mine. Anyway ty for your answers.

On this subject, I have read that Mid (iLvl 378 - 397) Gear Levels you should aim for 1573 Haste for the soft cap and the Higher (iLvl 397+) Gear levels you should get 1993 haste soft cap. My simulations show that this isn't a DPS increase and that reforging full mastery is still the better option. But my fellow warlock colleagues disagree. You should probably use chalice for the time being. Especially on most of the normal mode encounters, you should reforge away from haste since normal modes don't have much multi dotting in the first place.
