Hi guys, I have a question to any Demonology lover out there.
I myself prefer Destruction, but I see that alot of people nowdays use Demonology, and I can't get to grips with it, i have reforged stuff too Mastery so i have alot of Mastery and I still only do about 20k DPS, I saw a Warlock doing 30k DPS with worse gear than me, I dunno where i'm going wrong.
If anyone could tell me their rotation i'd be much appreciated.
My armory so you can check my gear and tell me where i'm going wrong is http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/t ... y/advanced and i don't have any WOL logs in this spec which probably would have been a good idea >.<
I also have the trinket from Baleroc with Mastery in my bags but I need the hit atm with my Rune of Zeth untill I get new neck piece from Valor vendor.
Thanks for the help!

One thing you have to mind about Demonology, especially with heavy mastery, is that around 1/3 or more on short fights of your DPS comes from your Felhunter and Doomguard. Don't use Felguard for anything else than Demon Soul (+Felstorm) and make sure you have your SP procs and Volcanic Potion up when you activate Doomguard. In the current state of things, you'll never do great DPS without Doomguard, and the difference between a "bad" Doomguard without any extra SP/mastery and the ideal Doomguard is pretty big.
There really isn't anything special about your "rotation", you have your DoTs, procs and cooldowns, use them. What you might not have thought is that you really should attempt to be in Shadowflame/Immolation range whenever possible and you should "roll" your Doom/Corruption by re-applying them right before Metamorphosis runs out. Your damage depends a lot on Metamorphosis and Impending Doom, and you should avoid sitting on an off-cooldown Meta at all costs.
There's nothing horribly wrong about your gear part from that 20int/20haste gem, but for trinkets all you need is the Moonwell Chalice from Molten Front dailies and Darkmoon Card: Volcano. Necromantic Focus is awful compared to MWC as you benefit more from burst mastery than static mastery that hardly does more than improve your pet damage.

Hey thanks for the reply, i'm glad it's not my gear but i'm going wrong somewhere.. just trying to figure it out.
I have the chalice now and will replace it with Rune of Zeth once I have my new neck piece as it makes me over 1 percent chance too miss otherwise.
Can I ask which Curse and which Bane I should be using on long Firelands fights if I am the only Warlock in the raid? I currently use CoS and BoD..
So I think what your saying is I start off with my Felguard, use Demon Soul and then once Demon Soul has finished with Soulburn and get my Felhunter out untill Demon Soul is ready again? I am going to take your information into consideration and use Demo in tonights raid i will post you a WOL when I can, remmembering too pop a volcanic potion when I summon Doomguard and trying too use all cd's when possible.
Thanks again.

Your hit rating is nothing in comparison to the DPS gain you get from Chalice. Being hit capped isn't crucial, and if you don't have Darkmoon Card: Volcano, I suggest you go with Chalice + Zeth.
As you probably know your mastery increases the damage you do while you're in Metamorphosis, and when you use Metamorphosis the ability snapshots your current mastery and uses that number to determine how many % of extra damage you do in Meta. So basically if you normally have 1700 mastery which would grant you ~53% extra damage in Metamorphosis and you pop Chalice before you activate Metamorphosis which increases your mastery by another 1700, upping the extra damage you get into your Metamorphosis to ~72%. And this bonus stays on even if your Chalice buff drops while you're in Meta as long as you had the Chalice buff up when you entered Metamorphosis. Doomguard works in similar fashion. On a boss like Baleroc the first 20 seconds or so are by far the most important.
You use Curse of Elements if you don't have an assassination rogue, balance druid or unholy death knight in your raid (which usually take care of it automatically) and you use Bane of Doom as I mentioned in my previous post. You use Felguard when you pull the boss, and Soulburn a Felhunter out as soon as you've popped Meta + Demon Soul and Felstorm is over and then it's virtually ok to use Felhunter for the rest of the fight. Mind that Felstorm is superior for heavy AoE but your Felhunter could beat several Felguards in sustained single-target DPS.

Not a paragon's lock, so correct me if i'm wrong.
If i can give you a little advice about your gear, just restore your legs and wand and reforge legs crit -> hit, then wand haste -> mastery. Manni is right saying hit is not a crucial stat compared to the usefulness of MWC but 15.5% is anyway a bit low. Getting DMC will be a huge boost to your gear and dps for both hit boost and its amazing proc (ofc in the place of normal Raggy trinket).
Another little thing: it's good to reach 1573 haste for cap, but it's not crucial, and having over 1600 haste in your gear status is kind of a waste imho. If HC domo is far ill suggest to buy valor wrists, for hit/mastery stats.
Hope this helped!

I have reforged/restored and bought the trinket.. is there anything special i do when target is below 25 percent too?

Soul Fire will replace Shadow Bolt as filler while the Decimation aura is active. Note that you will still want to prioritize Incinerate with Molten Core charges over Soul Fire.

ok so i have a comment ( question ) im not in the best of gear , i did go to chardev.org and imported my char then exported it to wowreforge.com it had me reforge everything to mastery , im currently sitting at 1935 mastery without MWC buff my haste is pretty low at 1034 without DI , do you think i should go got 15% haste with a lower mastery rating or stick with the haste as it is. i got the rotation down pretty good and peak pretty high numbers but those numbers DROP ALOT after meta wears off , thinking its cause my haste is so low maybe im incorrect. would appriciate the input. here is my armory link if you need it http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/e ... ife/simple
I did reforge to more haste after i posted and i did ( hope you dont mind Diivil ) looked up your char on armory and got my haste around yours and as much mastery as possible without losing my haste .. awesome work on FL i strive to be as good as you all one day.

Meta with MWC is 70-80% bonus to all damage you do excluding summons, it's not really unexpected that DPS drops a lot when Meta and Demon Soul drop. If mastery sims notably higher scale factor than haste for you I don't see any reason to try to maintain any arbitrary amount of haste.
