Hi, Ive been trying to workout if there is and if it does exist what are the soft and hard caps for mastery. I was looking you up Iiris and you have 19.86 mastery. Is there a certain reason for that or is that just how much you got up to from gear, reforging and etc. Also, my friend plays a human rogue and when he goes over 19.68 mastery he loses dps. I was wondering if palas have that kind of cap aswell.

It's just the max mastery I can get from my gear atm =).
There isn't any known hard cap associated with ret pala mastery as far as I know. Some people suggest that the cap would be 100% additional holy damage on strike but I don't really see why it wouldn't go past that. There has however been some discussion about crit becoming better than mastery at certain mastery levels so I guess there is some kind of soft cap. This is because crit also boosts mastery (larger hit provides larger Hand of Light bonus), but the point where this would happen isn't reachable at our current raiding tier yet.
