Hi Lappé. My character's name is Eothlorien found on the US server - Llane. I consider myself one of the top Balance Druids in the world. I do extensive research on Wow Meter and analyze a modified WrathCalc's spreadsheet to maximize my dps. (please see links below)

I currently show the following conversions for your gear (This was calculated creating multiple tables within WrathCalcs):
1 haste rating = 0.639 spell power
1 crit rating = 0.514 spell power
I calculated Reign of the Unliving is ~0.7% more DPS than Phylactery of the Nameless Lich if Lunar Eclipse is crit capped.
My questions are these:
Considering the Lunar Eclipse crit cap is around 900 crit rating (depending on your buffs and current INT), will you continue to stack crit rating over haste rating? Would you consider regemming Ashen Band of Endless Destruction with a Runed Cardinal Ruby? Have you considered using double Reigns of the Unliving instead of a crit rating trinket such as Phylactery of the Nameless Lich or Muradin's Spyglass? Have I missed something in my calculations or a short-coming of WrathCalcs?
I appreciate any incite you can offer.
Yours Truly,
-Eo
Edit: for the 'é'.

Hello Eothlorien.
Haste vs crit comparison is more than just calculating stat values to every spell etc, for me its more about my computer (which isnt the best possible...) and connection. having 3-6fps during most bossfights is... frustrating
With the way we are using our cd's on bossfights (which means popping everything [including bloodlust] from the start) its just a huge benefit to have Phylactery of the Nameless Lich proc with it.
Also with raidbuffs my Starfire cast time is below 2sec, making Reing of the Dead far less desirable
Currently my current versio of wrathcalcs says that 1 crit is ~0.59 sp dps wise
even if it would be a very slight dps increase to swap sp+crit gem to pure sp, i just prefer no to, just to avoid bouncy dps (eclipse procs...) between tries and by quoting Synti "and in case of Lappe, his teenage/moonkin angst and despair caused by lack of mutual love from Taylor Lautner" from The Plagueworks arcticle.

Hello. I'm Mentò currently playing balance in Method. What Lappé is saying is totally correct. Something i have noticed aswell is crit really boosts the dps during wrath and its a huge boost and crit also reduces rng stuff. But lappé i dont agree with your spec at all :P XOXO

Well.. 2 talents in Improved Moonfire :P it was good with t9 setbonus. And is typhoon really worth that second talent? Owlkin frenzy rocks in icc

theres nothing else to get than imp MF and typhoon has its own uses in most of the fights

last time i checked adding 2 talents in genesis is better than 2 in imp MF atleast but i could be wrong

Thanks for the response Lappé. I agree that as soon as you add latency into the equation, crit rating becomes a much more desirable stat. You also make a good point about the trinket procs at the beginning of the fight, since most boss fights are ~ 3-5 minutes now (with a few exceptions). This may change however for heroic modes if boss encounters start lasting long enough.
Concerning spec, I think 2/2 Imp MF is a must have regardless of tier gear. This leaves 1 point for genesis and 2 points to float around in either typhoon, Owlkin, brambles, or gale winds.
Concerning glyphs, it maybe wise to use the starfall glyph over insect swarm to add the dodge debuff for tanks come Heroic ICC.
One thing I still want to test is the haste level versus # of starfires during a lunar rotation. I realize haste (over the soft cap) is not a linear conversion because once you can squeeze in an extra starfire during a Lunar Eclipse proc, it becomes a much larger DPS boost.
Cheers,
-Eo
EDIT: I forgot to add... I currently only refresh dots for the current Eclipse proc up. So if Lunar has proced I will refresh Moonfire if there are ~ 8 secs or more left in the rotation. For Solar ecplise I do the same just refreshing insect swarm. Once the Eclipse buff wears off, I refresh both dots. I have found this to be more than a nominal DPS increase in the order of 1-2%.

but you have to consider about latency, dot refreshing etc

in Hm's im definitely going to keep IS up time closer to 100% than my usual ~90% just for the -hit
with moonfire im taking in account all the +sp procs and going with more a feeling based order rather than mathematical (im not a super geek)
