I heal 25 man raids. My guild is working on some more hard modes (we are 3/13HM right now) and I was wondering why you stack haste over mastery. Both in practice (at least from what I've noticed) and on elitist jerks mastery is king above certain haste breakpoints but I noticed that you (Xaar) stack haste and reforge out of mastery. I'm able to be high up on the charts with much worse gear than my guild's other healers and I believe that mastery is the reason. It also seems that stacking haste would present more mana issues due to the extra casts you can get off. What is your reasoning as to why you stack haste over mastery, you clearly know something I don't (having killed Sinestra 9 times!). I try to be the best resto druid I can, so any explanation and/or tips would be greatly appreciated! :P

Mastery should be better as long as you note your breakpoints.
Originally I stacked haste because my healing set was basically most of my dps set as well. In practice, I think haste vs mastery difference in 25-mans, when mostly raid healing, wasn't (isn't) that game breaking. On the other hand, the dps difference between the stats was very noticeable.
While I still do have a fair amount of mixed parts in the sets, I would go for mastery now if I wished to optimize. Just too "lazy" to do it for easy farming, as it wouldn't make any difference. Ultimately I plan on getting the 2004 (2005?) breakpoint for WG for next tier. That gives a nice healing boost but seems to be a bit tight to get, so all that haste stacking will come in handy... in a few months! Having gear stacked for haste gives me a good overview of how much haste I still need without having to look it up in a separate chardev or the sort.
P.S. I've been rather busy, so if anyone has some pending questions I haven't gone through, sorry!

Awesome, thats exactly what I needed to know! I do have a boomkin set and I notice the difference without the haste but I very rarely go boomkin so I figured I'd leave everything as mastery rather than keep reforging everything I change specs :P Hopefully I will be able to get to the WG breakpoint in the next tier, depends on how far my guild can get I guess.
