You say in the guide that MyBigIgnite updates as soon as a spell hits, but for me this is not the case.
For me, it only updates when Ignite ticks. So by the time the addon lights up, I only have 2 seconds left on Ignite to trigger Combustion.. and sometimes I'll be in the middle of a Fireball, so if I want to take advantage of that Ignite, I'd have to stop casting and Combust, or risk losing the Ignite..

Are there any settings I should change?

#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast combustion

I like to keep it handy for those pesky random times I am casting Fireball and Combustion cast is optimal

Patadubs,

Thanks for linking that macro. It's one I use and something I can't believe I left out in the guide. I have updated the guide to include several Macro's for fire mages.

it's worth to reforge for 2005 haste or just for an extra tick in combustion it cost you too much crit rating ?

hi there,

love being able to play fire again!
i just had a question (not for me since i am using dragonwrath but for my guildies), why is Visage of the Destroyer listed as BiS after dragonwrath? spirit is useless for mages as far as i'm aware and mastery is not very usefull for fire either... why not go for Lightning Rod which has hit and haste?

Fumble,

As a general rule, if you can get there without sacrificing any hit, or intellect, do it. Critical strike rating is good, but haste is also very strong. Reaching those tick marks in fire are another boost that make it even more worth while.

Sorry, this was a repeat of a question, but I have a different one.

In what situation are we supposed to use flame orb?

Is it just on CD or on movement, or what?

Lots to address so here it is:

Hellwolf, what a pleasant surprise. How did you find me? I bet you just wanted some mage tips for your hunter.

@Monsita,

The trinkets in the first post are correct. I removed the outdated post to avoid further confusion.

@Zapzors,

Thank you for mentioning it. Early calculations made it difficult to predict the dps benefit from the buff on the item. Because of this it's damage was predicted to be less than that of the spirit staff, but new calculations estimate Ti'tahk to be better. I have changed the thread to reflect this new informational.

@Remixed,

I'll just go ahead and clarify for both Mirror Images and Flame Orb. If your using them to boost dps, they are best used at a time that doesn't disrupt your "burn phase rotation". Anytime your attempting to use Combustion, or spamming Fireballs with a buff. I have not done any actual math on the subject to back up this assertion. As a general rule, I try not to post without getting my facts straight and math correct.
