Gearscore was okay until it became the number you had you had to have to do raids, battlegrounds, etc.

ElitistGroup is a much better addon for pugging. It gives average item level, shows gems, missing enchants, pvp items, inappropropriate spec/class choices, and an awesome experience tab. It shows what they have already accomplished. I use neither at the moment. If I had to choose one, I'd choose EG though. ;)

I found this addon on curse website, with ~69k downloads and also found it on curse client with ~12k downloads

Seems to be the same because of the version 1.7.6 (working on wow 3.3.5). Doesn't seem to be nearly as popular as "GearScore", though.

I'll give it a try, thx for the tip.

I am a strong believer that Gearscore does not determine the skill and or playing ability of a person, all I was interested in was the score of some of the top players in the world, that's all. Xeno said she does not know but perhaps someone else does.

The problem I have is when someone asks for 5.5K GS for ToC, you get there and they dont have enchants, gems, or ability to move or play the game.

It was was in the instant I watched a 5.8k GS player get hit by Icehowl that I realised his carer must have installed the game, and that GS was for faggots. If you want to be picky about who you invite, check achievements of other instances and armory them. If they can gem and enchant properly chances are theyre not a complete and utter moron.

GS is a curse. It is a simple measuring tool that everyone can understand, but those who solely rely on it are retards.

Wow, I and Arx spent like 10 minutes on that elitistarmory website inserting names of guildies and hoping one would have a fail enchant/gem/something. I can tell that Arx's alt mage didn't quite pass...

Definitely going to use that the next time I'll be putting a pug together! Thanks for the hint.
