Just thought it might be cool to share what inspired the names we chose for our Characters on WoW. Maybe it's something that you made up for got from a random name generator. Or it could have a deeper meaning than we all realize.

I got "Unshakable" from the T-Shirt I happened to be wearing when I created my Priest.

My usual nickname was and isn't useable within the English speaking WoW world since it is a shortform for a drug (doesn't come from there though). So when my best friend just named his char after his last name I tried around for a few seconds and make a mix of my first and lastname, Rothnir. Niroth is 2nd version of it.

I created my nick for different forums and IRC around 10 years ago. I just came up with letters and arranged then in some order. Around 2 years later someone told me that xenophobia actually means fear for strangers, and that surely has nothing to do with my personality. When I started playing wow it felt pretty natural to use the same nick ingame as well.

I think xenophics is pretty unique (or was), my alts' nicks are super lame compared to it (Xate, Avarian, Ceta, Meie).

When I was like 12 or something, I was way taller than my classmates and my shoes were like twice the size of theirs. My friend thought they looked like clown shoes compared to his and I was nicknamed Hermanni after a tv-clown for a while. I've used that nick since then and I don't really want to change it to make myself unrecognizable to people I've met.

I was like 9 and had just bought Master of Orion 2. Being as mature as 9-year-olds in general are, when prompted for a nick, I typed archmage. Too bad there was a width restriction, and the blasted nick wouldn't fit, leaving me with archmag.

I was years ahead of the time on the "x boom", and conveniently shortened the nick to arxmage. Which sounded stupid, so I dropped the -mage and was left with simply arx.

PS. God damn I hated Arx Fatalis when it came out, since before that there was essentially no competition for the nick.

arx / xaar

Mine comes from the portuguese translation of Yogi Bear.
In portuguese Yogi Bear is "Zé Colméia" but people would only call me Zé or Colméia so I decided to go with Colméia since Zé is pretty common in portuguese, it is something like Joe.

Does Yogi Bear have a different name in finnish? If it sounds cool I might be changing to it. ;)

Thanks for the translation, I think I'll stick to the portuguese version though. :)
