Paragon member changes & updates - Status 17-11-2010

Hello everyone,

Since I enjoy following the member changes of Paragon on a regular I decided to make a small write-up on those that occured in the recent past. I'll go through it class by class and might also add a question here and there.

Death Knights - Current size: 3

The DK squad went down to a trio last week when Devah switched his main to Hunter to make sure that Kruf is not the lonely stable keeper in the guild. There might be also a plan behind it as the size of most classes is now around 2-3, with the exception of Druids and Paladins

Druids - Current size: 5

Not much change here recently. The last change was Verdisha switching his main to Warrior, probably to avoid the shame of being remembered as "The Trial that died in the ICC 25 HC video AND was pointed out". Smart move on his side and also making sure that Tuuttiz is not talking to himself in the Warrior chat all day.

Edit: Oh and I think Xephros joined and I have no clue when. So sorry that I overlooked you. And whats with the X for Druid names....

Hunters - Current size: 3

After Kruf was indeed the "lonemeow" within the guild for a long time he now has some mates to feed and play with all the animals. Besides Devai switching from DK to Hunter, long-time recruit Geru also made it into the ranks of a member. This should make sure that Kruf is not collecting too many weapons in Cataclysm... Finns and guns, it can be a deadly combination - for the Finns.

Mages - Current size: 2

Stable, stabler, mages. No class has seen less change in the past months in Paragon, and with less changes I mean zero changes. Baltha and Cevius have remained the two Fireball throwers for a long time now and unless they have the urge to start making A-B-C rhymes and add a member with A.... we might not see any change here for Cata.

Paladins - Current size: 6

This special group of pink wearing tincans is growing faster than a gypsy family. For a long time their numbers were sitting on a solid four, a number that was shared with other classes such as DKs, Priests and even Rogues and Warlocks at some point. But now two new faces have made their way through the trial parcour and into the roster, Smirk and Kolori. Smirk was on the roster as a trial for quite some time together with Geru (Hunter) and Kylol (Shaman). Kolori has been the latest addition to the class, because one can never have enough Frostmourne wielders. I can already hear a choir of mourners when they collectively replace it at level 81... or 82.

But this also underlines the continued importance of Paladins and Druids. Being the most versatile classes in the game that can fulill all three roles in a raid.

Priests - Current size: 3

The number of church employees went down in Paragon last week when Ande was all of a sudden gone from the Roster page. Since he was the last Priest to also join the during WotLK it makes me wonder what happened with him. Maybe he was too friendly to children, a common problem within this profession.

Nonetheless I'd like to ask Paragon as to why he has been removed from the roster and if he is going to return with another main. Remember, the Mages still need an A. The remaining Priests are the Chinese trio that has been with the guild for a long time, Xe, Zhi and Jha. Ni Hao?

Rogues - Current size: 4

Not much to report here. After their number was set at three for most throughout WotLK, the faction of fork & knive wielders (proper table manners ftw) added Nakkimon some time back. That happened so long ago that he was already at the Assembly lan, so really, nothing new here.

Shamans - Current size: 3

When Geru (Hunter) and Smirk (Paladin) joined, a third trial became fullmember: Kylol. He increased the number of Shamans from a whooping 2 to an unbelieveable 3, giving the class the (almost) average number. Maybe we see a dedicated one of each spec for Cataclysm. Enhancement love anyone?

Warlocks - Current size: 3

This is the most "hectic" class group in the guild. Some weeks ago their number was increased to four when (Stormscale legend) Manni joined the guild. Quickly making a noticable presence on the forums, he and all others saw the leave of Tsukky - who received the guilds first LK25HC mount if I recall correctly. Why this happened also remains unexplained. Besides Ande he is the only member that seems to have left the guild for now. It might also be the undodgable Finnish military service, but so far the are on guild rank 7 which makes them friends / alts, rather than 5, where the Military people are stored from what I know.

I finish this class with words from the Notorious B.I.G. - "Ma bitches, get Manni! - and they did.

Warriors - Current size: 2

Not much to report here either. Basically this class is like Shamans but with Frostmourne. Tuuttiz was the only Warrior throughout 90% of WotLK, competing with Kruf for the most-lonely-class-chat title. But after the world saw Verdisha dying on LOLship he dropped his shifting seacow and picked up his alt Warrior. And as we know, ALL alt warriors wield Frostmournes... of course... what else.

-----------

This concludes this small write-up. I had some fun doing it and maybe some of you have fun reading it. The only two questions that I can ask at this point are:

1. What happened to Ande and Tsukky?

2. Are your roster-changes done for now or are there open spots that no one wants to reroll for and that you actively seek players to fill?

Good Day.

Very nice write-up. Hell, I play here and I found it interesting.

To answer your questions:

1. Ande, after some really rough raids on his part (for example, being generous sharing the Mark of Frost with every single non-marked raid member on Sapphiron), decided that the only way to bow out with any dignity was to "accept a position in a school in Switzerland." Pretty elaborate ruse tbh, he even moved over there to make it seem legit. But everyone can see through it.

Tsukky is on some sort of indefinite leave. I've seen him say he's gonna come back with Cataclysm. Same deal with Lifa, although he hasn't been removed from the roster (yet?).

2. If it would be up to me, I'd keep on recruiting pretty much always, as long as there's players showing promise. It's hard to come by new people who play good. There's also always people quitting or going inactive due to various reasons. Avoiding rough spots whenever possible doesn't sound bad at all.

I don't think there's any specific roles we're looking for people to fill. With the amounts of alts etc, the flexibility is there already. I'd be happy with just getting excellent players - rest is just arrangements.

Obviously enough though, it's not up to me.

Also, there's at least Wakoz who has expressed interest of rerolling from rogue to warrior. There's also sometimes just downright dumb class whine from a handful of players, but I doubt they'll reroll. 8] They just like complaining about how their own class doesn't have every ability in existence and how it's unfair and underpowered and imbalanced while shit is still WIP.

Very well written :)
Just looked at the roster yesterday and was wondering about the "undocumented changes" ;)

Awesome Niroth!

I knew you'd write something but I didn't know it would be this cool ^^ I believe we need to recruit you as our third party (couldn't find a better word for this) reporter. Snooping up all the changes and undocumented news, and reporting about them with no shame and no regrets. Zyn already answered all your questions so I'll just thank you and start waiting for your next write-up!

Ps if we have any Chinese readers please let me know if some word/phrase could be arranged from the phonemes: Xe, Zhi and Jha.
