Halion 25 Heroic Parry's

On This encounter we seem to be having a serious problem in Phase 2 or Phase 3

In Phase 2 the Shadow Realm Tank is Dying whilst turning to avoid the cutters. Or similarly hes dying in Phase 3.

In Phase 3 The Fire Realm tank is dying tanking the Inferno and the Boss.

After doing Several cross references using the Expression editor in World of Logs , it seems the tanks are nearly always dying with 2 big melee hits in succession, preceded or followed by a cleave or breath..

I believe this to be the parry haste on this boss and was wondering if your guild had any tactics to combat this

We had considered havng ranged DPS downstairs on phase 3 to prevent the downstairs tank getting gibbed..

There's not much you can do to avoid the parries. Have your melee DPS hit the boss from as close to the beam as possible. You can also try using ranged DPS downstairs and see how it goes. Even though they aren't going to do as much DPS, it's fine unless you'll be hitting Enrage.

For the melee & breaths, frost DK with resist spec is an incredible tank in that encounter. By far the best, really - he can also tank the big Inferno at the same time with the boss without any issues. If you got one, you should definitely try it.


How are you handling the extra damage? Are you sure your tanks aren't just getting gibbed because one realm pulls ahead in DPS too much and the phases aren't split 50/50?

we are usually in the 50/50 region , but sometimes drift into 40/60 in favour of shadow.

seems the rogues are parrying something like 10 times per encounter...
DK's once or twice and Enh shaman a few times..

We dont have any DK tanks, Druid does shadow Realm, Pala does Fire Realm + Inferno , Warrior Does adds...

Rogues end up parrying attacks as a result of Killing Spree, to help avoid this, advise your rogues to walk backwards whilst Spree'ing.
