Shadow - Hit vs Spirit

As a Shadow Priest with Twisted Faith, is there ever a time when it would be beneficial to take hit over spirit?

Spirit awards the same amount of hit as hit, so it doesn't matter which you take (as long as you are not planning on starting healing).

Well in some ways you might benefit from it but its only if you got an item with spirit on and you change for example mastery to hit to be able to get a reforge of to haste or if it would help you to a socketbonus. Or if it helps you use another item that you wouldn't be able to quz of hitcap. But this os only in strange cases I guess, see xenophics has done it on his Cord of Raven Queen.
