Mage wants to improve himself.

Hello everyone,

My name is Shruikand, im on the realm of Ravenholdt EU.

I've been playing a mage since a month before the release of WotLK. Been theorycrafting a lot since Cataclysm.
And I would love that more experienced mages look at my character and give out some pointers.

I have been playing with various compositions with my gear.
I would like to list out some gear pieces that I also have.

Firelord's Leggings (359)
Firelord's Mantle (359)
Firelord's Gloves (359)
Firelord's Robes (372)

First of all, the tier 11 4 piece set bonus.
Does it still outweighs what I have replaced it with?

Because I have replaced the tier 11 pieces with 378 Mastery gear. (Also with the t12 2piece set bonus)

The stat differences with current gear and t11 4p set.

Without T11 4p
SP: 7517
Haste: 10.13%
Hit: 16.85%
Crit: 18.28%
Mastery: 21.18

With T11 4p
SP: 7350
Haste: 10.96%
Hit: 16.88%
Crit: 18.79%
Mastery: 19.01%

This is my first question regarding gear.

P.S. I know not to take the T12 4p bonus. I just wanted the gloves and legs for the mastery.

Allright, my playstyle. Personally I think there is lots of space for improvements.

The best way to know what gear to use is to download the program Rawr and load your charecter into it. Save the file as anything and import it into SimulationCraft. Look at the amount of damage it does and then open your charecter again with the second set of gear. Load it into simulationcraft and see how much damage it does. Whichever does more damage is the best set. I use the combination of the two programs as a means of checking each other to make sure that I get the most benefit out of it.

I think it's really awesome that you read what I already posted before about mini burn phases and Flame Orb. Saves me some time typing :)

So... ....I just looked over your Shannox logs and I think it's incredibly halarious that for an entire minute you didn't make a single attack, which leads me to think you got hit with a crystal prison trap. I will tell you right now that no matter how much you know about your class, and no matter how well you can min/max you will still be the bottom dps if you can't dodge traps, tornadoes, fire, broodlings, brushfire, lava waves, ect.

I really have no clue what went on in that shannox kill, but something is clearly off. 97% of your damage was from Arcane Blast. I have Shard of Woe and I don't do that much % with Arcane Blast. Thank you for the tips. And about that minute at Shannox, I died and the resto drood slacked with rezzing me :P
But I'll look into that thread, already read it but maybe I missed something.
