With the changes to healing in the recently updated patch notes:
-All healing critical strikes now heal for 2 times a normal heal (+100%), up from 1.5 times a normal heal (+50%).
and our water shield changes in relation to mana tide nerf:
-Improved Water Shield has been redesigned and renamed Resurgence. When Water Shield is active, Resurgence causes critical direct heals to restore mana (Resurgence rank 2 is roughly equal to 150% of the old Improved Water Shield value when a Healing Wave or Greater Healing Wave critically hits, and scaled down accordingly for faster or multi-target spells).
-Mana Tide now grants 200% of the caster's Spirit, down from 400%.
Do you think valuing crit will go up on par with haste/mastery? From the sound of it, I'm just odd-balling around 25%+ crit to get decen mana return rates with the scaled down manatide returns.

Personally I don't like the 200% healing on crits change at all. I feel that it will lead to more balance issues in both pve and pvp. But I could be wrong on this.
About the other changes I find them needed, as mana has no longer been a issue in our raids at least. Gear scales so well now days that it almost felt like playing wrath all over again.
Crit as stat does gain some value due to these changes, I haven't done that much math to see exactly how much. But from what I've read and looked around fast it shouldn't change "stat prior" that much. Soft cap haste and mastery stacking should still be the way to go when talking about 25man raiding.
But it's hard to give 100% solid answer yet as not all the calculations have been made yet and I'm sure there is more changes coming with the patch, these were on only the first wave of patch notes
