Failed to affli, expecting more from Demo.

While i'd been reading a lot (EJ, MMO forums and this one) I'm yet not sure of what's the thing these days.

So, tuesday i killed 4/8 as Demo, i was pulling decent dps (+32k) but i felt like there were too many scenarios which had a lot of mobility so yesterday i switched to affli, reforged to haste and all, on ultraxion I did 31.5k DPS, i consider that to be REALLY low for my gear, that specific fight and the spec. (And while i did great on the ship fight i consider that to be merely cause of me being affli)

1.-Comments on this on what im possibly doing wrong?

After that fiasco i reforged back to demonology the way i used to use, according to the guide you can use incinerate as the filler, and for that reason and the haste coming from DS chalice can be disposed of, but since my haste is so low i doubt that's the case.

2.-When could i ditch the chalice and with what would you replace it with? Besides the chalice and DMC:V i also have VPLC (non-heroic), Necromantic Focus H and Insignia of the corrupted mind (regular version).

My regular dps since the patch is 33-35k dps, i'd like to know what i could do to improve it as i don't like being just a mediocre dude (also i ran simcraft (new to it) and it said on patchwerk i should be pulling ~38k dps.

3.-Any advices on what to check for? (I AM using the meta after the chalice bonus , i mention that cause that's one of the most common issues afaik) Should i be using incinerate as a filler? (despite using the chalice) Is my gemming alright? Any kind of criticism would be great.

1. Probably your priority system, or just general lack of practice with the spec.

2. From what I see H Rag trinket surpasses the chalice and maybe H necro both together, then from there DS trinkets, not sure yet.

3. Absolutely nothing is "Patchwerk" In dragon soul so far. The closest you come is Ultraxion and it's still not quite patchwerk. You still have that ~5 seconds of absolute dps stop at every twilight shift, thing.

I personally believe that the incinerate build is superior to that of the shadow bolt one. The only debate to that is you lose the cast time on immolate and for fights that you need to "double DoT" it's better to be affliction anymore (mostly General so far)

Make sure you're pet swapping efficiently. If you can find short down times, like between killing bloods on spine, then use that to summon one of your pets. A little tip, try and watch your fel hunters shadow bite and put shadowflame up so that it will be up when he bites so he gains another boost from it.

If you are going to replace the Chalice or DMC:V for H VPLC, you should replace DMC:V. At least that's what Paragon locks are doing.

Ultraxion is as Patchwerk as it can be without being Patchwerk himself (on normal, haven't looked up heroic yet), at least from a DPS point of view. You lose a lot less than 5s of DPS if you time your Heroic Will correctly.
Morchok is pretty much Patchwerk as well, almost as much as Baleroc at least.

Tooltip on Heroic Will:
"The player's Heroic Will steels the caster's mind to resist the forces of Twilight. This pulls the caster out of the Twilight realm for up to 5 sec, but renders them unable to attack, cast spells, or move while concentrating."

I see up to 5 seconds so I'm not sure when it pops you out otherwise. But you have to take into account RNG with fading twilight and having to once again pop out with Heroic Will.

Its about as patchwerk as you get, but it's still not quite.

I'm pretty sure some of them also get rid of Chalice at some point to? I think I saw one of them without it at one point, even if for a short time. Either way with the patch change and with incinerate I know that later in the tier we drop it for sure.
