Hey,
Had a few question I was hoping to get answeared regarding this particular minion of ours. Mainly I'm wondering what the best time to pop it would be which begs the question what does it actually benefit from and from what does it benefit the most. If bloodlust and meta is up at the same time that would be a obvious choise but if those two doesnt come up at the same time, which should i go for? Pop it right befor bloodlust or during meta?

It scales only from mastery and spell power.
Goddamn, this fissure skill is inaccurate.

Thanks for the reply, just to bother you a tiny bit more:
I currently use necromantic focus and as demo i feel it makes my opener a bit cluncky. I do pre pot and bloody fury, power torrent and my darkmoon card is all usually up at the same time, how many stacks of the focus should i wait for befor poping doomguard? Is waiting for, lets say, 10 stacks vs 5 stacks worth losing any of those previously mentioned procs for?
Another question regarding the opener is wether or not i should wait for 10 stacks of the focus to use it or should i just pop it straight away to have a higher uptime of the procs in meta?

Just as curiosity, why not?
I also have a feeling the DMC:Volcano would be a more solid choice in real world scenarios, despite Simcraft listing the Necromantic Focus as BiS (a "feeling" doesn't say much though...), but I would like to know what are your thoughts about it. Specially why the Simcraft approach is supposedly not accurate in this case.

DMC is still BiS for lot of casters due to his insane uptime and his dmg dealt.
Necro is tecnically a good choiche for demo, thing is that blizzard screwed up a bit about mastery values in demon form.
If you use Moonwel Chalice right before metamorphosis you will gain a dps increase that is way far from the simple 1700 mastery that you read on the trinket tooltip. It's equal almost to the double of that value.
This effect doesn't works for every trinket that procs mastery, and that's why for example Moonwel Chalice (ilvl365) gives about 800dps more than Theralion's Mirror(ilvl372).
So BiS are: DMC, MC.

If you use MWC after you press Meta you will gain next to 0 benefit. Your mastery only ever really matters at two points - when you press your Metamorphosis or Doomguard - due to the snapshot function of those spells. And the value you gain from on-demand burst mastery is much greater than 2x, and the reason Theralion's isn't ideal is because of the difficulties of lining it up with the random element of Impending Doom.

misswrote after instead of before. and edited up ^^
anyway beside from the thing that MWC is a use and TM is an effect, that makes as you said MWC the best choiche, i read a post about a strange mastery scaling with metamorphosis (mb is not a secure source, but it tells that procs and effects with mastery on some items behave differently from others) but really can't find it anymore for a quick link.
anyway you should use it definitely BEFORE casting meta, so tnx to Manni for his precious correction.
