Question 1
I've checked various logs of top warlocks but I get varying results on what potions people decide to use. So my question is, what potion would you use, speed or wild magic:
a) pre-combat
b) during combat
c) during lust
d) during drain soul phase
e) any other moment
Or is it dependent on fights/gear set up (too much haste comes to mind). if so, can you give examples on when and how you use potions.
Question 2
Sort of a leadon from question 1, but if you pre-combat wild magic potion for 5% extra crit on corruption, you can't reapply corruption when devious mind procs. is that a dps loss?
Question 3
Out of H phylactery, H dfo, rs 25 trinket. What combination would provide the most dps. i have a feeling its h dfo and heroic rs trinket due to massive haste, but i also think the proc from phylactery is much better then dfo itself.
If you have any important or interesting information to add, i'd gladly listen :)

Hello Nibel,
I don't think there's a point in arguing that Wild Magic is the better potion to use pre-combat due to the nature of how Corruption behaves with the extra crit rating, but the in-combat potion is a bit more difficult to give a definite answer on. What I can recall having seen done and argued for is using another Wild Magic during Bloodlust or under 35% or using Potion of Speed at under 25%.
We usually burn Bloodlust early so it partially overlaps with my first Wild Magic and makes it impossible for me to use another one during it, which is why I personally have opted for using Speed when target health is below 25% because it has shown better results for me every time I tried to theorycraft it.
I don't quite understand what you mean by question 2. Perhaps you meant asking it the other way around, as if the situation were that you had to choose between recasting Corruption with 10% more damage while losing 5% crit or not, the answer should be pretty obvious. However wasting a global to reapply Corruption for the difference between those two might result in a DPS loss in a shorter fight or in a fight where you can't keep Corruption up infinitely. I don't really have any concrete number on when it's a good idea and when it's not, personally I just don't bother recasting at that point. However if it should happen that Devious Minds procs while your Wild Magic is still up, it will much more likely be a good idea to recast.
The trinket choice depends on many factors, but what you probably should consider most is the fight duration. Phylactery gives you a massive boost on a long cooldown. What makes it attractive is the fact that for Affliction the proc is very consistent: 30% chance to proc on any DoT damage means it is almost guaranteed to be up within seconds when it's off CD. So for example if you know your guild kills the boss in about 2½-3 minutes and uses Bloodlust very early, Phylactery will not only be giving you that massive boost during Bloodlust but also it should proc again near the end of the fight (greatly increasing it's effective uptime) and more importantly when you can Drain Soul. When this is possible, Phylactery should definitely be used. If the fight duration goes closer to 4 minutes (or 6 or 8 and so on) or is rather unpredictable, you would probably get more consistent results with the low cooldown haste trinkets.
