Really need some Affliction Help

Hoping that Some one can help me out of a difficult and some what embarrising Situation. I know for a fact that I am underperfoming in all raids and I have no idea why, in a ICC raid with the 30% buff I am pulling an avarage of 8k DPS. Which is really bad, almost like half my spells are missing or im not casting.

now from what I have read on spreadsheets etc, I should be, with my gear set up be pulling double this figure, and it is very noticible.

My Current "Rotation is" LT, SB, SB, Haunt, Corruption, COA, UA, then fill will SB till things need refreshing, Haunt is refreshed as soon as its off CD, and I am using faily decent timers, (built into Tukui), I also have Power Aura Clasisc Set up to give a visible and audio warning should I miss the CD timer on Haunt. im also using Drain Soul below 25% mark.

im hoping that someone here can help me out as I am begining to get feedback that I am more of a hinder to the raid than a help.

I'm not familiar with WoL and I'm not going to analyze anything else than a basic tank and spank boss because analyzing a complex boss would take too much time and effort. So I'm gonna compare your Rotface normal kill on one of our Rotface HM kills. The comparison should be fairly decent because your kill was only 2 seconds faster.

First of all I notice that you have only 77 CoA ticks compared to my 112, 40 ua ticks vs my 69, 12 haunts vs my 16 and finally 7 Drain soul ticks vs my 16 ticks. I'm not going to compare our SB or Corr ticks because I have so much more haste. But here you have the main reason for your low dps: Bad DoT uptime. This is one of the most important parts of playing an affliction lock and you should keep working on it.

I was thinking about linking the elitistjerks affli guide to you since it answers on the basic questions of affli playing, but seems like its deleted. I might write some guide because of that at some point, but I have some stuff to do irl so dunno.

Yeah Went over to the EJ Forums and couldnt find the Affliction guide thread my self. Sorry for using World of logs, it was the first log file I could find on our forums. from what your saying I gather that my poor performance is mainly down to my DoT uptime. could this be down to my timers, or latency ? on average I have around 100ms Latency at the most and im doing my best not to clip dots and keeping haunt, UA up as much as possible.

I seriously doubt that the latency is the problem, but if you have outdated dot timers, it could give you other lock's dot durations or some other false information.
If its not that, then its an learn to play issue and you can go to spank some dummies for practice and it probably will help you manage better during the next raid.

Well, i do respect Paragon more than any other guild in the world. And im checking its forums every day. And I can actually see the HUGGGGEEEE amount of people like u writing in here with some childish questions. I understand that you are looking for help, but how about stop being so lazy. Start with forums, read it all, go practice on dummy, compare ur armory with some top locks from paragon, do something. Not like "hello guys, i got great gear and im doing 8k dps. Help me please". You are just being too lazy to analyze everything yourself. And dont tell me that lock is hard to play. I got lock as 4th alt and it has much much worse gear than u have, and im easily doing 13-16.5k dps as affli on all bosses(got WoL's if u need). Its just a question of not being LAZY. And i dont simply understand how do guys from Paragon have patient and efforts to repply with wall of texts to lazy people. (and ye sorry for being rude..)

if you think that I havent been checking Elitist Jerks, Walocks Den, WOW Class Forums, These Forum, the old ensida forums, asking other locks and Genrally busting my balls trying to figure what the problems where then your very much mistaken.

Having people like yourself give attitude and genrall rudeness when I am trying to find out what the problem is and fix it, rather than just say "sod it ill stick to what im doing im happy as a pig in muck" Makes me all the more appricative of the people like Jubeto who take the time to respond with constructive advice.

my mother used to have a saying (before she passed) and I think its very apt to you Aseath, "if you havent got any nice or constructive to say, then say nothing"
