I have been following sejtas armory during hc progression but i couldn't be on all the time so it might have changed without me noticing.
Have the reforges and gems really been hit/exp crit for the whole raid progression?
Because the damage i'm taking on some bosses are ridiculous.

Gemming/reforging for hit cap and expertise soft cap is a must atm. Also, crit is the main stat cuz of our Primal Fury ability ("Gain an additional 15 Rage every time you deal a critical strike with autoattack or Mangle and gain an additional..") which is why you should go for crit gem/reforging. Going for dodge/mastedry now aint improving so much atm. Rather going for crit to be able to have as much uptime on Savage Defense which us your primary mitigation ability.

I do understand that. The problem i'm running into is that savage defense isn't enough, i am taking too much damage compared to other tanks. Maybe i am doing something wrong i don't know. Would be really nice if a paragon healer answered which tank took more damage.

Its not only savage defense. it´s either savage defense or frenzied regenation. Like the dot (rend flesh) on stone guard hc cant be dodged so frenzied rege is primary use of rage. pulling 30k+ hps on myself to help the healers. So Savage defense is for primary melee dmg and frenzied rege for all the other dmg that cant be mitigated. Crit is better overall then full dodge/mastery cause its good for both. mastery/dodge useless for magic dmg bosses. Agi should allso be ok cause it gives dodge/Crit but as we know primary stat gems dont give as much as secondary stat gems so thats why i go towards crit over agi atm. Atleast for progress.
