I couldn't find any mention of Rake in the posts discussing the pet changes, can you link the bluepost where it was mentioned?

ok i just missed this part, so, as ou say, if the raid is optimised, no matter the pet, all do the same thing.

As for hunters being bad, I haven't heard any such thing, in fact I'm pretty reliably up there in top5 on single target standstill fights. Sustained AoE is also quite decent, not as good as the "imba AoE" classes. The one thing we're a bit weak (at least SV) is burst AoE on a few targets - rogues and warriors dominate pretty well there.

What about 4.0 live, if you don't mind?

I haven't raided in 4.0 live, and honestly I don't care that much. Wrath is over, everything is killed - just waiting for Cataclysm.

whats the spec your using for cata? atm in ur raids if you dont mind posting it since the other 1 was invalid link..Also what do you guys think are the best profs for a hunter going into cata for pvp/pve

I haven't really bothered with dummies. SV is best if you have some gear, BM is decent except for the bosses (and trash) that instagib pets or otherwise mess them up. MM is just plain not very viable at the moment, Steady Shot is nothing like Cobra Shot and the other abilities MM has don't do anything to compensate (in fact their "signature ability" Aimed Shot is pretty much completely useless).

I am curious if they are going to get the DPS sorted out in time with only a few months left on beta and as you have far more raid experience on beta then I do I am curious on your thoughts on whether or not you are sticking it out with hunter or going to be trying another class.

Hunters look to be just fine. It's just the encounters where pets just mystically die or hunters have to stack up on melee that suck big time.
