Need help with DPS!

After 4.3 Patch, should I choose Survival over Marksmanship for DPS?

Should I reforge something away? Am I missing something.

I'm using Arcane Shot "rotation";
* Keeping Serpent Sting up
* Keeping Improved Steady Shot up with 2x Steady Shot.
* Shooting Chimera Shot whenever CD is off.
* Shooting Aimed Shot whenever it procs as instant shot.
* Dumping focus with Arcane Shot when necessary.
(I do not use any binds to have pet to do something (Should I?...), it just autoattacks).
+ I have the set bonus which makes Steady & Cobra Shot generate double focus.
+ I also have 4-Set bonus, haven't tested it yet and not sure how often does it proc.


I'm not currently using any macros except to pop cooldowns.

Other hunters mainly use Aimed Shot instead of Arcane Shot as far as I have seen. Have tried that myself but with that I do even less DPS.

Would love to hear all possible tips / tricks to maximize my DPS.

Just with a quick glance I can see that your build is wrong. I would suggest you go and do some reading prior to asking for help. If you are bit rusty or haven't played a hunter before there are a ton of good information sites out there, that discuss builds, haste platues, rotation, etc.. Go read up, then if you are still having issues come back. Right now it is a lack of understanding of the class that is holding you back.

I have read many sites regarding Hunter class, such as Elitist Jerks, but they are so stuffed that it's hard to pick the actual information off that.

EJ is for number crunchers. For the basic builds, priorities etc.. I would also recommend that you look at Survival as a spec. MM is great but it can be difficult to play successfully, it has tight rotations and priorities. Survival is the popular spec atm, and imho easier and more fun to play.
