Weapon choice

Heroic Lavabolt x-bow or reg Arathar the Eye of Flame
Fandral Flamescythe or Ranseur of Hatred

Heroic weapon over normal Arathar is an obvious increase.

Ranseur is BiS if you can get the firestone to upgrade it to heroic, it normal, if all you do is normal modes, is BiS for hunters as well. If you cannot obtain a firestone for a heroic Ranseur, then obtain heroic staff from Majordomo.

These are easy decisions to make if you realize the stat weights for a hunter.

Depends with what dump you play with, for my gear Flamescythe is better than ranseur cause i don't need the excess haste at all. For AiS dump get Ranseur and for Arcane dump get Flamescythe.

On the same subject Heroic Arbalest of Erupting fury ( 391 ilvl) vs Vishanka, Jaws of the earth (looking for raid 390 ilvl) for a Troll! On Zeharah's dps Analyzer the Vishanka is 290.15 dps increase. It's a .42% crit increase but then then everything is a drop only thing to make a difference is the proc.

Kiril, Fury of Beasts normal vs. Spire of Coagulated Globules hc I did some theorycrafting, and FD showed a 200 dps

increase for a low on haste(1800 MAstery) Survival hunter in favour of the Staff. It's a bit strange considering the

similarity in passive agility on both of these items(514vs.529+gem). Shouldn't the agility proc on Kiril net a higher

dps? I am quite confused by this, and would much appreciate any suggestions.

Perhaps it depends on the mastery amount? With my own FD sim for my hunter it simed me a dps loss to obtain the HC staff over normal Kiril.

Well, I saw Devai being in a similar condition, meaning 1700+mastery, droping the Kiril and taking the Staff instead. I have never

heard of Mastery Plateus, if they exist at all that is why I am very interested in that matter, and ask about an opinion

of people more fluent in maths and simulations.

you should take buff stacking into account. i'm not a 100% sure however i think fd just pops everything on cooldown.
timing kiril + potion + engi tinker + maybe a racial + cotw and a haste proc/cd or during lnl really makes a huge difference.

on the other hand you may not always be able or want to use all your cds just because kiril procced
