A few Questions that concern me.

Hello all, long time reader of these forums first time poster....

I am an Aman'Thul Alliance (Lol) Hunter with a few questions that are concerning me.

First of all: A question that i assume many hunters are having an issue with, Haste vs Mastery? I have spoken to many top hunters / read about this topic, all with varied opinions and i was curious of your thoughts on the matter?

My second: Concerns our set bonus, (4 Set, that is.) Is it worth it? It currently seems a bit weak, damage equal to one tick of BA, anyway, that set bonus will be removed, what do you think of our new 4 set bonus come patch 4.0.6? -.2 seconds from the cast of our Steady/Cobra shots. Is it worth prioritizing our Valor Points for T11 gear?

Third on the list: (This is assuming that you have been on the PTR recently) What are your thoughts on our talent trees, will MM yet again trump SV or will we be remaining the same? (Im not even going to mention BM)

Fourth and Finally: Is it worth/Do you Focus Dump with Arcane Shot to avoid overcapping focus? I have tried this, and i do, do it in raids, i find it very tricky at times, i sometimes dont have enough focus to use BA and ES which can be very irritating.

Haste until your Cobra Shot cast time is below 1.66sec, then no more. Reaching the next sweet spot is not feasible with current gear, however see next...

The problem with the new set bonus is, reduced cast time on Cobra Shot does not really improve dps unless you can get near the point where you can fit a full extra Cobra between two Explosive Shot casts - you'll just end up with dead time in rotation or delay Explosive Shots (the latter being reasonably big dps loss if the delay is long). With the new set bonus reaching the break-even point might be possible, however I haven't bothered to do the math yet.

Funny that you should not mention BM, because it's probably the most useful spec out of them all for filling a raid setup. Anyway, even if I had been on PTR it's impossible to say, since we don't raid on PTR and testing without all buffs/debuffs does not give you realistic results since the specs have different scaling.

If you check some of the other threads, you're supposed to focus dump with Arcane Shots once the target is below 80% hp (ie. Careful Aim is no longer active). Obviously you should only focus dump if you're about to overflow, so you don't delay Explosive Shots or Black Arrows.
