Combat vs Assassination

I have noticed Rakez has gone to combat spec in his armory and was just wondering how the dps is compared to assassination in raids now. I have been wanting to try combat since i read the patch notes but my guild leader is wanting there to be more proof that combat is now viable as a raiding spec, Any insight or comments you all have on this would be greatly appreciated.

but i was wondering while i was in combat spec last raid i pulled like 19k dps on valiona while in assa 20k + with blue mainhand not biss trinket

while combat got 1 better trinket and sword from valiona so im wondering about combat vs assa too .

would be nice if some rogue from Paragon would giev any hint or tip :)

and i would like if Rakez who specced from Assa to Combat say anything here :) sience im following You on armory

They seem to be pretty even in single target, both with their own niches for different fights. Play what you want to play, I'd say that whatever you have better gear for is worth playing.

I have been playing around with combat myself. Without really gearing towards it perfectly, gone for the expertise cap and swapped out some pieces that have more haste then mastery. I still play Assassination as my main spec in most situations, might go a different route how ever when we start Halfus hc.

What I'd like to ask is how have you been dealing with energy during Adrenalin Rush?

I usually start off with throwing up a few cp's and putting up snd, I try to be at as low energy as possible before popping AR but no matter what. I always get energy capped after some uptime of adrenalin rush. I guess this might not be a problem really, but so far I've found this to be quite annoying actually since I really don't like to get energy capped.

I usually play at around 50 - 70ms in raids so I wouldn't put it down to that.

I was just wondering if any of you guys have seen a AR so far where you don't get energy capped?

Energy you physically cannot use doesn't count as wasted energy, so if you cap during AR despite wasting no time on GCDs, you couldn't have avoided it anyway so you haven't lost any DPS. There's not really any way to avoid it, using BF to slow the regen is a bad idea, so you just have to live with it.

As a side note you could use an Evis only rotation whilst AR is up in order to use energy you would have otherwise lost.

Yeah it's probably a good idea to not refresh rupture during AR if you're about to cap as a good chunk of rupture's advantage to evi comes from the fact that it's basically free.

what do u guys mean when u say cap? like done cap enegry.. i play a assassi rogue 359 i lvl, and dont understand how i avoid capping energy... do about 18k dps on single target

Capping energy = Letting your energy reach 100. It's bad. Press some buttons to avoid it.

why dont you play assas anymore rakez you went combat do you pref it or does assas dps suck for you compared to assas a Q. out of intrest:)

i think combats lame tbh ive always prefed assas
