((please excuse-me for the typos, english is not my native langage))
Here's the story. I just won shadowmourne, which I don't really deserve. I'm a good little soldier, but that's all I am ; our really brilliant DPS were just not available enough. I know my bases but I now want to go further and try my best to improve myself. I want to wear my axe proudly and stop apologizing for it ! (yeah, baby, etc.)
My only guide is the famous EJ one : http://elitistjerks.com/f72/t72364-unho ... _exception : perfect as a basis guide. But there are many questions I need answers to and I just can't find the time to read 4563453 isolated threads, waiting for the "gold mine".
So : my question is : do the "gold mine" exists ? Somewhere, perhaps a very detailled guide, wich will answers some of these questions ? For example :
- in a classic dps rotation, when should I use empower rune weapon ?
- same question with blood tap (internet explains a lot about rune tap used for bone shield, but there must be other good things to do with it ?)
- when *precisely* should I use my AotD ? (I mean, something more precise than "before the fight or during a transition")
- I've learned to suck RP with my anti-magic shell, but what should I prioritize in situations where I got so much RP that I got to choose between it and my GCD ?
- where are all the good tricks I can't guess myself (cause I'm fucking stupid, yeah, thanks), for exemple asking a rogue friend for a single tott and abuse it with a GoD glyph... I suppose there are many little things like that, that good players know, and that can make a real difference ?
Again, thank you if you can answer those questions individually (and I know you do) but the thing I'm REALLY looking for is... a source. Or many. Some places I can read, and learn, without having to read TONS of useless pages on my way.
And... somehting else... I really don't understand how players dare post their logs here and ask "hey dude ! you don't have anything better to do with your time than analyzing my annoying logs and explain me what I do wrong, right ?". But they dare ! And some of you even respond to them ! So... I feel really embarrassed but, guys, if you really have time to lose for some analyze of my logs... :p Here's a typical "no errors" situation, an easy melee fight (Saurfang) where I don't feel like I'm doing tons of mistakes (I'm just here, running my rotation), but where I see equivalent geared friends do MUCH better. On a stressful or difficult fight, I could understand : they're just better. But in a case like this... there MUST be a tons of details I'm missing.

I'm not in paragon, but I have been really studying WoL (especially DBS) lately for my own skill building so I took a look at your links.
A few things that are holding you back on dps.
1. Your fight time is 3:43. the longer the fight the less % of that fight is during Bloodlust. The longest ranked fight was 3:04 last I looked and most are in the 2:30 range. Along with that Blood Lust serves you better if it happens at the start not the end to buff your Gargoyle when all procs are up.
2. Your race is UD. If you were Orc you would get 5 free expertise from the axe, all your pet damage would be higher, and you would get Blood Fury.
3. Your gear is very good, but you have some room to improve. Dps will def go up when you replace a few pieces. Especially the trinket. The EJ UH thread has a ranking of trinkets that is awesome.
4. You use Blood Boil. On DBS any aoe on those adds is diminished by 70%. Pestulance is smart to spread EP for the ranged but Blood Boil is weaker than Blood Strike, and If you Blood Strike more you would have a greater uptime of Desolation
As for your questions,
ERW should be used either during a time when you aren't able to use a gcd for runes or DC (like right after the first garg), OR when you mess up your rotation
Same with Blood Tap unless you are using it to do an instant refresh on Bone Shield
There is no precise time to use army. The main priorities for army is don't pop it when they may taunt adds, pop it when it won't keep you from using other abilities (before pull or during a lul), lastly pop it during the fight.
Even if you use it instead of other abilities it's a dps upgrade, but its a bigger one if you can do it when you cant use other abilities
Death Coil hits harder than Blood Strike, but not harder than Scourge Strike. Death Coil is also not buffed by diseases so you can use it as filler when diseases fall off or instead of a Blood Strike if you are going to be RP capped before your normal DC time.

You're gonna want to pop ERW when you have the most procs up. Usually that's at the start of the fight when everything lines up and Bloodlust/Heroism is on.
Blood tap .. if you don't use it to refresh bone shield, just use it as an additional Blood Strike if you feel like it.
For AotD usage, there's really nothing fancy with it. Throw down a DnD ~12s before engaging and start summoning, then run in. There's very little to use it well on, unless you're struggling on Putricide's green slime (pets reduce the damage - you can basically have 2 DKs absorbing all of the explosions with army & pets). There's some very limited "good" use for it on LK too.
As for capping on RP, I'd fire away a Death Coil every single time as long as I'm not delaying my runes. Meaning, firing a DC during RGP is fine but not actually delaying any of the runes.
There's not really any sort of "tips & tricks" thread anywhere, as far as I know. I've usually just optimized every encounter week after week, cutting down on movement and the time away from a boss' melee range etc.. such as soaking the AoE blasts on Sindragosa and stuff instead of running away. If I wouldn't, I think that'd make the game really boring much much much faster.
